Great Finds

Hi everyone! Happy Halloween! I don't have a card for you right now, but I have something BETTER! Some ladies were asking me how I make my paper flowers. Well, I found a video tutorial that makes flowers even better!!!! It's from McGill and they're called Paper Blossoms. You can make 3D flowers using their different punches! You HAVE to watch this! It's fantastic! Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIPmwvJEDdk

Enjoy!

Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 54

Hi everyone! This is my second post for tonight. I have some wonderful news! So scroll down to see it! On to our challenge: Stacey's back with another round of Curtain Call Color Challenge! This time we have wonderful fall colors for all of you! It's a great chance to sneak in another fall card before we're overtaken by Christmas cards! Here's this week's color combination! Have fun everyone!

I tried to come as close to this week's colors as I possibly could. I don't usually carry around these colors. For the More Mustard I had to replace it with a Saffron color. For the Cajun Craze, I chose this vintage brick color. I punched some ovals and embossed them to make the pumpkin. I got the idea from the very talented Mona Pendleton. (thanks Mona!) I stamped a leaf from my Leaf Prints (PTI), cut it and adhered it to the pumpkin. The circle scallop underneath didn't really have those holes in them. I actually just punched those out to add a little something more. I hope you like this week's card! Come and join in the fun! I can't wait to see what you can come up with!

2S4Y 64

Hi everyone! I'm all excited because it's Friday tomorrow. Finally, the end of the week, more time to rest. I have a card for 2S4Y tonight. I made it for a very very good friend of mine who's half way across the globe. I miss her dearly and hope to see her soon. My world just doesn't seem the same without her in it. I made her a " Miss You" card. Hopefully the card survives snail mail that far! Anyway, here's 2S4Y 64.

I've been dying to use my woodgrain impression plate again. After deciding that I wanted kraft and melon berry together for this card, everything else just came easily. Have I also told you I'm in love with these flowers?! Aren't they just gorgeous! I just love the detail and the texture!!! I tried to keep this card simple and beautiful, just like my friend! :)

Supplies:
Cardstock - vintage cream, kraft, melon berry (PTI)
Stamps - polka dot basics, mega mixed messages (PTI)
Others - impression plate (PTI), lace, flowers (Jo-Ann's), button (Walmart), twine (Michael's), brad (Recollections)

Card Patterns Sketch 87

Hi everyone! I'm feeling a little better today so I was able to make a card. I haven't gotten the results of any of my tests yet so please continue praying for me. :) My card for tonight is for Card Patterns Sketch 87. I have been wanting to try this sketch out because I wanted to make those accordion folded circles. Sorry, I have no idea what they're called! Haha! I just wanted to try to make one. Since it's already late and I have to rest I won't make this too long. Here's the sketch for Card Patterns Sketch 87.

I stamped the background using the huge butterfly from my Inkadinkado stamp set. I added dots so that there wouldn't be any dead space. There's my accordion folded circle! :) I used PTI patterned paper to make it. The ribbon is from Martha Stewart and the lace is from Offray. The flower is from JoAnn's. It was a great idea to buy those stems and just pluck out the flowers. There's more texture to them than paper flowers. The butterfly and sentiment are both from PTI. I hope you all like my card for tonight! Thanks for stopping by today! :)

Color Cue Challenge 9

Hello everyone. Sorry I've been away for a few days. I'm still not feeling that well. I've been to the doctor and some tests have to be done to determine what's bothering me. In the meantime, I feel better enough today to sit at my desk and make a card. This one is for Dawn's Color Cue Challenge #9. I just love this color combination. It's so feminine!

These aren't exactly Christmas colors, but I wanted to make a Christmas card none the less! :) Here it is! I just had to use these snowflake stamps. I don't know why, but I just thought they would look great in pink and gray! I stamped different snowflakes in gray and pink on the left panel. Then I stamped background text in gray on the right panel. I cut a silver doily in half and adhered it to the right side of the card. Then I layered lace and a ribbon in the middle. I placed a simple greeting on an oval die cut and decorated it with more snowflakes. I also punched out more snowflakes and adhered them around the sentiment. At some point I thought the snowflakes seemed bare, so I glued on some rhinestones to tie up the silver/gray parts of the card.

Thank you for all the well wishes! I hope to feel better soon so I can get back to making more cards! :) Thanks for stopping by!

Not Feeling So Good

Hi everyone! I haven't been feeling well the whole week. I'm headed for the doctor's tomorrow for a check up. I've been having aches and pains lately and now I'm sporting a fever. I hope it's nothing. But if you ladies don't hear from me for awhile you'll all know that I'm still not feeling better,

I would appreciate it if you included me in your prayers tonight. Thanks so much! See you all soon!

Waltzing Mouse "Tag -You're It"

Hi everyone! I have a tag for all of you tonight. It's for the Waltzing Mouse "Tag - You're It" challenge.  I've been mulling over this one for quite some time. I don't usually make tags and so I was stumped at first. Then I just decided to think of it as a small card. :) After that ideas came flowing. I was limited though because of the size of the tag, I like the end result though! Claire is giving away fantastic prizes for this challenge. My Waltzing Mouse to-buy list is soo long! I hope I do well in this challenge so I can get more stamps!!! :) Hee!

I made the tag from vintage cream cardstock. Then I stamped some En Francais to make the background. The red patterned paper is from K & Company, I used my EK Success edge punch on it. I think the one I bought was a defective one, I have to get another one of it since I really love the look. The strip of patterned paper with the text is from October Afternoon. I love how the combination of texts came out.

If you look closely, the glittered star was cut out with the Cricut Expression. I put some adhesive on it and applied the glitter. The little snowflake is a punch from Martha Stewart. I just wanted to add it up there! :) The bigger snowflake is actually a sticker from Jolee's. I thought the star alone didn't do it justice. If I don't watch it and stop myself, I'll probably keep layering and layering on!!! Haha! :)

The red frame is the one I always use. It was cut out from light chipboard and inked. The ribbons are from Sweet Pea. I used the silvery white on the bottom and the red on top. I wasn't so sure about it in the beginning, but I tried it out and it looked great. The circular stamp beneath the frame, the little flourish on the side and the background where I stamped my sentiment on are all from Victorian Frippery. I wish I had more Waltzing Mouse stamps to use for this challenge. My other stamps didn't fit the profile. Hee! ;P Anyway, I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Embellish Magazine Vintage Color Challenge

Hi everyone! I hope your Sunday is going well. I have a card for the Embellish Magazine Vintage Color Challenge today. I think it might be one of my favorite challenges from Embellish Magazine to date! I just love any chance to create something vintage/shabby chic. Here's the inspiration photo for this challenge.

My inspiration for this challenge was Sarah Martina Parker's card. I just love all the elements she used on her card. Her vintage/shabby chic style is always so beautiful! So in line with my inspiration card, I chose to use a doily, flowers and butterflies. Don't you just love that huge Monarch butterfly die cut?! I was in love with it when I saw it on a card from one of the blogs I follow. I got it right away after I found out what it was. Hee!

I used several stamp sets on this card. Damask Designs on the background. Butterfly Dreams, Victorian Frippery on the doily and rust cardstock. And the sentiment is from Stampin Up. The flower is from JoAnn's and the ribbon from Glory. I inked up the doily by the way, I used an olive ink so that the vintage cream butterfly would stand out in front of it. I must say this card turned out pretty well! I just love this style of card making. If I could I would add layer upon layer of cardstock, embellies and whatever else I can grab! Haha! I hope you like this one! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 53 & Waltzing Mouse Challenge 20

Hi everyone! I'm back for the Curtain Call Color Challenge! Are you ladies ready for another round of fabulous color?! I have to say, this month's color combinations are just so wonderful to work with. Stacey puts together such great challenges! Here's Act 53.

I actually have 2 cards for everyone tonight. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to post my shabby chic card or my classy elegant card, so I'm just going to post both of them! :)

Here's my shabby chic card. I stamped the background cardstock with one of the flowers from In Bloom (PTI). I didn't want to use too much orange. I kept my card mostly white with splashes of orange, yellow, gray and black. The little flourish behind the ribbon was made with my Cricut Expression. The circle with the silver glitter was cut with my Spellbinders dies. Have I told you that I LOVE coloring this flower. It's just sooo beautiful!

Here's my Classy Elegant take on this color combination. I also used the sketch from Waltzing Mouse Challenge 20. I used my Victorian Frippery (WMS) to make the background patterned cardstock. I used yellow mostly for this card and kept the orange to a minimum. The medallion in the central panel is also a stamp from Victorian Frippery. This stamp set is my favorite from Waltzing Mouse. The possibilities are endless!!! I'm just totally constrained by my imagination. I hope you like it!

PDCC 52 2nd Submission

Hi bloggers! I have another card for the PDCC 52. I found this gorgeous lace from my local JoAnn's and it was meant for these colors! I just had to make another card just so I could use this lace! Haha! Here's the photo inspiration for PDCC 52.

I wanted to make a really soft card with these colors. Aren't they just yummy?! I would never have thought that pink, orange and yellow would look good together. I'm just not an orange person. But this very light colored orange is actually very beautiful. The flowers were also from JoAnn's. I bought one of those silk flowers and removed them from the stem that they came from. I just love the texture and color of this one. It was perfect for the card as well.

I know I haven't been making as many cards as I usually do. I'm not feeling 100% this week. I hope I'm ok by next week so I can make more. This hobby just relaxes me. I'm so glad I discovered it. I've also been trying to submit some of my work to some magazines. I hope I get published some day! :) Thanks for stopping by!!! I have one more for all of you later on! Be back soon!

PDCC 52

Hi everyone! Finally it's Friday! I haven't been feeling very well the whole week and I have yet to visit my doctor for a check up this coming Monday. I hope it's nothing. Anyway, I had some time to make a card for Play Date Cafe's Anniversary Challenge. I just LOVE this color combination! I love all the soft colors! Here's their inspiration photo.

I stamped my backgrounds for this card. I used Polka dots Basics (PTI) and a medallion from Victorian Frippery (WMS). I took my white flowers and doily and painted them orange and yellow with some water colors. They turned out great! It's a great way to get some color when you don't have the supplies at hand. I double tied a silk ribbon from Offray. I wish I had those seam binding ribbons...perhaps next time :) I don't know if you can see it but there's a glittered frame under the scalloped circles. The medallion in the center is from Vintage Labels (SU) and the sentiment is from PTI. I'm off to get some rest. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you like this one! :)

Embellish Magazine Felt Color Challenge

I was leisurely making my other card tonight without realizing that tonight was Embellish Magazine's deadline for their felt color challenge! I can't believe I almost missed this!!! Sorry, but I won't go into details about my card tonight. I have to try to make it in the challenge! Hee! Here's my submission for Embellish Magazine Felt Color Challenge.

Card Patterns Sketch 86

Hi everyone! Another night, another challenge. I was going through a shabby chic / vintage blog last night and I was in awe of all the cards there! I try to save the images of cards that I really love so I can go back to see them again when I need some inspiration. Tonight I wanted to try to make a vintage card myself. I hope it's close to being vintage! :) I used the sketch from Card Patterns 86. I saw that the deadline was for tomorrow and I didn't want to miss joining in on the fun. Here's the sketch.

Here's my vintage card! The patterned papers are from K & Company, aren't they just perfect for vintage cards? I dry embossed a vintage cream card using my new Provo Craft embossing folder. I love it! I've been inspired by so many crafters from blog land to purchase more embossing folders. Haha! I die cut the star using my Cricut Expression, then I adhered some glitter to it. The flower is from my stash. And the ribbon is from Sweetpea. I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

WMSC 19 2nd Submission

Hi everyone! I have another entry for the WMSC19. I wanted to try to follow this sketch a little more closely. I enjoy building scenes like this using my stamps. Here's the sketch for WMSC 19.
I used some vintage cream cardstock and stamped a cherry blossom image on the left side. It's from Rubber Stampede by the way. The I used a script font stamp from Hero Arts and stamped it on the lower left and upper right side of the card. I don't know if you'll notice, but I used my favorite WM stamp Victorian Frippery just beneath the ribbon. I used Pink Pirouette, I guess it's a little too light to see on my picture. The sentiment is from PTI, Big and Bold Wishes. I thought the ribbon looked a little bare and the card a little too pink, so I added that little burst of turquoise. It's from Webster's Pages. Also, to add a little depth to the card, I inked the edges with pink Distress Ink from Tim Holtz. The butterflies came from Butterfly Dreams. I stamped them and cut them out.

Colour Q 55 and 2S4Y: Kazan's Sketch 64

Hi blog friends! Colour Q has a new challenge this week. Actually, they have two color combinations! One for Breast Cancer Awareness and another one for Halloween. Since I'm not too comfortable with the Halloween colors, I opted to try the Breast Cancer Awareness colors. :) I thought all that pink would look wonderful on Kazan's sketch. Here's the color combo and sketch.

I just love my new In Bloom stamp set. I can't believe I waited this long to get it! It's such a beautiful flower and it's so much fun to color! I used Pink Pirouette to color in the flower in the middle. Isn't it just sweet?! :) I also used the same stamp to make a patterned paper strip.

There are so many card challenges on this week! I hope I can join most of them! :) I wish it were November already though...can't wait until I can order some new stamp sets again! (I already went over my budget for October!) Bad! Bad! Hee!

Supplies:
Cardstock - vintage cream, sweet blush (PTI), pink (Bazzill)
Patterned Paper - Lush (Making Memories)
Stamps - In Bloom, Friends til the end (PTI)
Others - circle die (Spellbinders), ribbon (Glory)
