Caardvarks: Clean and Simple #2

Hi again! I have one more post for tonight. If you haven't seen the first one just scroll down to view it. This is my second submission for Caardvarks Clean and Simple challenge. Their prizes are from Hero Arts! I especially love their new flourish stamp. Isn't it just gorgeous! Anyway, here's my clean and simple card #2.

I made a mini card for my second submission. For some reason I really wanted to make a card using pink, white and kraft. I just love the girly combination of colors. I still stayed with the Christmas theme on this one but I decided not to use the usual Christmas colors. Christmas can be pink too right! :) Haha! 

I stamped the tree trimmings using Versamark ink and heat embossed it with glitters. It's not very visible in the picture but it shimmers beautifully. I also used one of my favorite stamps from Waltzing Mouse, the Victorian Frippery. I just think it makes everything look so elegant and pretty. :) I hope you like my cards for tonight. Card Patterns 82

Hi everyone! I have one more card for tonight before I call it a night. I've been mulling over this sketch for the longest time it seems. But after I decided on using the doily, everything just started falling into place. I knew I wanted to use pink on this card, the rest of the patterned papers just happened to be on or under the pink polka dots and they looked good to me. So here they all are! Here's the sketch from Card Patterns.

If you've already noticed, I made a little mistake on the sketch. I placed the pearls vertically instead of horizontally. Ooooh well. By the time I noticed, I had already taken the pictures and fixed the colors. I just hope it still looks ok. I did follow most of the entire sketch! :)

Mojo Monday 157

Hi peeps! Mojo Monday has a new challenge out this week. I really love the sketch since it's perfect for a shabby chic card! :) I did some adjusting and moved the center panel just a little bit higher. My ribbon and flower just took up a lot of space so I had to make some changes. Here's the sketch for Mojo Monday 157.

I actually sewed on both the main panel and the lace on that little strip of patterned paper. You can't see it in the picture though because the ribbon just covered up my stitching. But it was good that I sewed it on. I was having a little trouble with attaching it to my cards because it tended to curl a bit. I also added from pearl pins beside the flower. I just wanted to add a little bling in that corner. :) And if you're wondering, that satin ribbon is actually dark brown...not black! :)

Hi everyone! I have a simple card for you tonight. It's for 2 Sketches 4 You by Laura. I have this beautiful 12 x 12 pad of patterned paper from My Mind's Eye that I've had forever but haven't used for sooo long. I based the theme for my card on one of the patterned papers from that set. The patterned paper had flowers on it, and what better flower to add to my card than violets! :) My favorite PTI flower to date! And to add just a little bit of drama ;) I inked up a doily and layered it beneath the flower.

Caardvarks: Clean and Simple

Hi friends! I hope everyone's week was off to a good start! Speaking of a good start, Caardvarks has a new card challenge this week and their sponsor is HERO ARTS! Yay! Hero Arts is giving the winner some fabulous stamps!!! So play along!!! I'm totally playing along because the stamps are just gorgeous!!! I've had my eye on that Fabulous Flourish for quite some time now. It's so great that Caardvarks is giving everyone a chance to win it! :)


The theme for the challenge is to make a clean and simple card, with an emphasis to "new". I just assumed that it meant a layout that's not too common and hopefully is something "new"! Aside from that all the DT samples were Christmas cards. So I opted to also make a Christmas card. I'm still excited over my Tree Trimmings stamp set anyway and wanted to use it again! Here it is! I hope you ladies like it!

Hi everyone! I actually have a card for today. I was a little busy today and had no time to make any cards until late tonight. Anyway, I promised Heather I would show her another flower I had made. (*wink*) I actually got the idea from Mona Pendleton. She's such an inspiration for me. She's like the Shabby Chic Diva! :) I feel very honored whenever she leaves a comment on my little 'ol blog! :)


She uses her Spellbinder flowers, wrinkles them and layers them one on top of the other. I'm not sure if she uses colored wrapping tissue to make them. Well, I don't have any in my stash. What I did was, I lightly misted my die cut flowers (Tim Holtz for Sizzix), then I wrinkled them using an embossing tool. Since they were moist it was pretty easy to mold them into what I wanted them to look like. Afterwards, I just layered them and attached them together with a brad. It's actually easier than the other paper flower I usually make. Thanks for the idea Mona!

Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 48

Hi everyone! It's that time of the week again! Stacey has a new and fun color combination waiting for you over at Stacey's Stamping Stage. This week's color combination actually reminded me of Halloween. But I decided not to go in that direction and challenged myself to do something else. Before I show you, here's the Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 48.

Isn't this color combination just yummy?! This is certainly a challenge! As I was saying, I challenged myself to make another card aside from a Halloween card which was what I was thinking of doing in the beginning. Here's my card!

I have been wanting to use this butterfly stamp for quite some time now. For some reason, in my Butterfly Dreams stamp set from PTI, I only use one kind of butterfly. I was thinking that this butterfly was too pretty not to use. And it would look really beautiful in purple! This is how I started my card! From that I kept on building on it...until I came up with this! :)

I really love this frame. I think I've used it in several of my cards now. I used a label die under it and embossed it with dots just to add dimension. And there in the background...YES it's En Francais again! I told you that I would using more of it. :) Isn't it just a lovely stamp? And HUGE too! Did you notice that my pictures are a little better this time around? Hee! I took some pictures near the window when it was still bright. I usually do my crafting at night and so I end up using artificial lighting when taking my pictures. But natural light looks sooo much BETTER!!! :)
