Happy Birthday Sis! and a card from Chupa!!! :)

Hi everyone! It's my youngest sister's birthday today! She's miles and miles away and I miss her sooo much! I made a card for her and I hope she'll like it. I can't take full credit for this one. I saw Melissa Phillip's card while I was flipping through my January 2010 CARDS Magazine and I fell in love with her card. She used hot pink, brown, light olive and cream together in a card. It's was just gorgeous! My sister's personality TOTALLY suited the color combination. I even loved the layout. EVERYTHING!!! Have I said I loved everything about Melissa's card?! So I cased it for my sister! :) I hope she likes this one! 

Ooooh!!! You won't believe what came in the mail for me today! Chupa sent me a card!!! She's such a thoughtful and sweet lady! I wish I was naturally thoughtful like that! Thank you soooo much Chupa!!! I LOVE the card!!! :)

WMSC 28

Hello again! I have one last card to show you before I go out today. It's for the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge 28. I was so inspired by Clare Buswell's card that I decided to make my own.

I flipped my card on the side as you can see. I did this because I wanted to use that ornament stamp. I didn't use it as an ornament here. Instead I chose to use it as a background for my focal point. I loved how Clare's was white and gold. It was so elegant. I chose to go with silver, white and gold for my card. And instead of coloring the fruits in their original color, I thought it would be great to feature them in silver and gold as well. I didn't have a silver pen, I used a light shade of gray instead. Then I used a gold pen to color in the other parts of the fruits. 

I really enjoyed making this one. I hope you like it! I'll see you ladies later! I have some movies to watch with my hubby! :)

Cards that didn't make it.

Good morning! Just as promised, I'm posting some cards that were not accepted in the submission calls that I sent them to. 

I loved this one. The soft colors and that ribbon. I even remember almost losing patience in sewing the buttons haha! I don't like to sew very much. And I wasn't using a needle! I was just threading the buttons with the thread which made it harder. Mental note: get a big needle! I thought for sure this one was going to be accepted. Oh well! At least I get to show it to you ladies right?! :)

I thought this simple card was also pretty. I just love all the soft colored patterned paper. And I thought those small hearts were darling. I hope you like this one! :)

This one's theme was supposed to be ribbons. So I decked it with so much!!! Hahaha! I think these cards were made when I first bought my seam binding ribbons. I was sooo excited to use them! That I used them on ALL the cards I had made that batch! :) Thanks for stopping by this morning! I'll probably have more throughout the day since it's Saturday and I have some time in my hands to play! :)

CQC 63

Hello everyone! I have another card tonight. This time it's for the Colour Q Challenge 63. I thought that this color combo would be perfect for a CAS card. I'm not very good with CAS cards because I usually tend to LOVE layering and layering and layering! You be the judge of this one I guess... :)

I didn't have Bermuda Bay ink so I replaced it with Baja Breeze. I hope it's ok. What do you think of my CAS card? :) I hope you like it! I'll have more cards for you tomorrow. I made some cards for some magazine submissions that weren't accepted. I thought I would post them up to show you! 'Till tomorrow! :)

Happy Birthday Sis!!! & Just Add Ink #48

Hi everyone! Yay! I'm off today and I have some time to play! Both my sisters are celebrating their birthdays this December. One right after the other. Here's the first one for my sister Cathy. I miss them both so much!!! They're miles and miles away. We used to do almost everything together. Now I only get to see them once a year. :( 


She's not much for frilly ribbons. So I decided to make a simple card for her. I hope she likes it and I hope they all have a great time over at the resort where they're spending their birthdays at. (I missed another trip with them....)  :(

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC71)

Hi everyone! I'm back with another card using my Vintage Ornaments from Waltzing Mouse Stamps. One more for the road?! Haha! This one is for a challenge over at Flourishes. This is the first time I'll be joining them. The challenge is to make a card using embossing. Well, one of my favorite types of embossing is dry embossing. It's fast and easy and no clean up needed. Best of all, the results are just fabulous with the right embossing folder! :) FTTC71

Here's my take on this challenge. I used the "stars" (I just call them stars because I have no idea what they are!!!) in the stamp set to make the background. Then I used this wonderful patterned paper from PTI. I dry embossed a panel of kraft paper using a Cricut embossing folder. Of course, I had to use the ornament again!  I ran a ribbon around the panel and tied a ribbon on top of the ornament. It's hard for me now-a-days not to reach for my ribbons! Anyway, I hope you like this one!  

Haha! My first time to join in the Flourishes challenge, and it's already closed! Hahaha! Oh my goodness, I crack me up sometimes. :) I hope you'll still enjoy this one though! Come back after midnight for CASE Study Challenge!!! :)

FINALLY!!!

Hi bloggie friends! FINALLY!!! My order from Waltzing Mouse Stamps came in!!! I've been waiting for this stamp set for almost a MONTH now! I wanted to use it for my Christmas cards, but it came too late. I made most of my Christmas cards already. I only had this one last one to make. Oh well, I'm sure I'll still make some more even if I don't need it! :)


The WMS design team made so many wonderful things with this stamp set. I was convinced to buy it even though I had just gotten my WMS orders in. (I usually order before a release in order to avoid the rush.)  I hope I can come even close to what the designers came up with! Here's a card I made for my aunt in California. She just loves anything with bright colors. Red and lime green seemed bright enough! :)


 I'll be back later for CASE Study Blog Challenge!...and maybe some more cards using this stamp set! Hee!!! :)
