Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 93

Hi there! It's finally the weekend, and it's going to be busy. I had some time yesterday for a little inky break for myself. Since I have a baby shower and a baptism to go to this weekend, I was in the mood to make a baby card. The sketch for this week was perfect for it. Here's what we have for you for Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 93.

I realized I didn't make an Easter card last weekend and Easter colors were still stuck in my head when I made this card. I used My Mind's Eye patterned papers for this. I am so loving my 6 x 6 pads! 

I put together these patterned paper panels and stamped a border using Nordic Spring from WMS. Then I zigzag stitched them together. I die cut this Christmas Layers die and stamped a label image in it and the sentiment from L'il Buddies. 

I added the lace(Jo-ann's) and button over the die and sewed the top and bottom panel of the patterned paper. I wanted to keep things simple for this one. 

I also die cut these Limitless Layers and stamped my cute little chickie from L'il Buddies on it. Then I adhered them with some foam tape. I tried coloring the image by making a lot of dots and concentrating on the parts that I wanted darker. What do you think? I saw this technique somewhere and I've been trying to practice on it for a while now.

PDCC 126

Hi there! I am totally rushing this post because it's only 5 mins till PDCC 126 closes!!! lol! I was busy doing stuff around the house that I totally forgot that tonight was the last night for submissions. And I love the color combination so much that I didn't want to miss out on joining! Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 92

Hello! What a busy, busy week! I hope you all enjoyed the WPlus9 April/May 2012 Release! I had a lot of fun making the cards for each preview day. There's nothing like inking fresh, new stamps! lol!

Now that I'm back to my regular schedule, hopefully I can join in some of my favorite card challenge sites. Here's one for this week. Welcome to Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 92! I can't believe we're almost at 100 sketches! Wow! This whole month of April we have sketches from our very talented teamie, Karin! Here's what she made for us this week...

When I saw this sketch, I immediately thought of cowboys. Not sure why. Maybe it was the banners? So I grabbed my Back In the Saddle stamp set and Bitty Banners and went straight to stamping.

I stamped the Bitty Banners and hand cut them one by one. Then I adhered them over my patterned paper panel. I glued the twine to the paper and just covered it with the banners using foam tape. The boots I stamped and also hand cut. Then I glued the little stars from the Super Star Border Die.

I cut a strip of patterned paper from My Mind's Eye, and adhered a strip of the Super Star Die cut over it. I just love this color combo. I saw it on a picture over at Pinterest and realized it was perfect for what I had in mind.

WPlus9 April/May 2012 Release - Group Post

Hello again! Today is the WPlus9 April/May 2012 Release - Group Post. What did you think of the stamp sets, dies and impression plate featured yesterday? Impressive aren't they?! I had a lot of fun using them. So much fun, that I actually made two cards for the group post today.

Let's start with the first one. This card is inspired by Betsy Veldman. You know...the way she uses different stamps and puts them together to make something wonderful? I tried my hand in that, and this is what I made with it.

I combined images from Super Star, Label Layers 4 and C'est La Vie to create my card. I also used their coordinating dies to create my layered look. If I can't make my frilly cards, then they have to be, at least, layered. lol! I think card making should take a bit of effort to make. Because if you finish a card in 5 minutes...then where's the fun in that? But that's just me. :) I like to play around with my supplies.

I layered on each label and banner with some foam tape. I also inked the edges to break off all the vintage cream that's been layered onto each other.

Next up, of course I had to make a girly-girl card. I took Background Builders: Knits and stamped one of the images repeatedly in pink. Then I added more layers of cardstock and patterned paper over it.

I stamped the flowers from Mother's Day Bouquet and hand cut them. I adhered them over these layered circles that I had stamped with Damask Doilies and a butterfly image, also from Mother's Day Bouquet.

Then I directly stamped my sentiment on the patterned paper panel. I sewed the edges on both panels to add texture to the card. I also layered the lace trim and twine.
