WPlus9 August 2012 Release Previews - Day 3

Hello again! Did you enjoy yesterday's previews? I hope so! Because we have more for you today! We're introducing Pretty Patches Apple and Pretty Patches Pumpkin along with their coordinating dies. 

I die cut some square panels using the Pinking Square Dies. Then I stamped images from Country Charm on them and sewed them onto a piece of vintage cream cardstock. I used Label Layers 5 die to frame my apple and stamped the coordinating image from Fresh Picked.

I die cut the apple and stamped the apple image, leaf and heart. I adhered the heart with some foam tape to give it a little dimension. Then I cut a strip of cream cardstock again and stamped my sentiment along with a little border stamp from Country Charm. I finished everything up with a soft aqua ribbon.

 

For my second card, I divided the front of the card into 3 parts. I stamped a row of hearts on top, adhered the pattern paper panel in the middle and stamped the border stamp from Country Charm repeatedly on the bottom of the card.

I added a little crocheted lace to soften things up. Then I die cut a square using the Pinking Square Die out of some patterned paper. I wanted it to be the background for my focal piece. 

As with the apple, I die cut the pumpkin and stamped the coordinating image that went with it. I added a ribbon to balance the colors on the card.

WPlus9 August 2012 Release Previews - Day 2

Hello again! I hope you're not tired of me yet. I have a LOT more to show you these next few days. It's Day 2 of the WPlus9 August 2012 Release Previews. Today we're introducing Country Charm, Pinking Square Dies, and Quilt Cut Dies 1. 

I have to say that this is my favorite card out of the lot that I made over the week and weekend. I love how colorful and fun it looks. I used Happy Harvest again for this project. 

I used two of the Pinking Square Dies in different sizes and stamped patterns on them. For the main frame, I adhered the cute scarecrow onto the side and the sentiment beside it. I also stamped the word harvest and adhered it over the smaller pinking square die with the stamped pattern.

I die cut the initial scarecrow and stamped the image on it. Then I stamped it again in a different color and hand cut the overall. I adhered it to the base image with foam tape.

I used Quilt Cuts 1 and die cut several hexagons using different patterned papers. I glued them one by one to make the cute quilt pattern for the bottom of the card.  Then I tied a ribbon and some twine over it and added a little cut button. I added a little tag using Timeless Tags and Happy Harvest.

The Shabby Tea Room #126 - Soft Neutrals

Hello! This is my first week as a Guest Designer over at The Shabby Tea Room. I was excited and nervous when Debbie asked me if I could be a guest designer for August. So I hope you take it easy on me this month. :) 

This week's challenge is all about Soft Neutrals. Here's the inspiration picture for this week's challenge.

For some reason this looked like a little country cottage right on the beach for me. So I added a little nautical touch to my card. I used mostly neutrals, but I wanted a little color in it too. There was a little blue on the paintings and I took that and incorporated it into my card. I used Guiding Light and the Guiding Light Dies.

I also used A Pocketful and A Pocketful Dies. I placed the star fish and sand dollars as if they're spilling out of the pocket. Not that you would put star fish and sand dollars in your back pocket. lol! But it looked good that way.

I also stamped them on the edges of the vintage cream cardstock to emphasize the nautical theme of the card. The sentiment I got from Fish More. Wouldn't it be great to retire and live near the beach?! I know I would love that. :)

WPlus9 August 2012 Release Previews - Happy Harvest

Hi there! It's Release Week! Didn't I say it was going to be busy here? :) Welcome to Day 1 of the WPlus9 August 2012 Release Previews!!! Today, we're introducing Happy Harvest and Happy Harvest Dies. 

Fall is just around the corner and Happy Harvest is PERFECT for the season! This set is filled with wonderful fall images and sentiments that you will surely love. And the fabulous thing...it has coordinating dies...so no more fussy cutting! Yay!

I started with a piece of patterned paper where I stamped some sunflowers on the bottom. The border stamp is actually from another set that's going to be released this week. Watch out for it!!! I adhered a strip of crocheted lace on the left side of the card. Then I attached another piece of patterned paper in the middle of the card and tied a soft cream ribbon around it. I also added a little button and some twine to break up the light colors.

Then I die cut a piece vintage cream cardstock where I wanted to concentrate my images on. I die cut and stamp the wheel barrow and pumpkins image to start. Then I stamp rays of sunlight in the background using A Pocketful and Super Star.

I used the same orange pattern on the small piece of cardstock just before I stamped my sentiment. I adhered my wheel barrow and pumpkins over the rays with some foam tape.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 109

Hi there! I'm just about ready for the storm of challenges and releases that I've been getting ready for. (So keep checking in for them!) I'm starting with today's challenge, Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 109.

We have another sketch inspired from Waltzingmouse Design Team members' cards. This one is based on Bonnie Sharp's creation.

I did a little adjustment of the sketch to suit what I wanted to make. Instead of a circle in the center of my card, I wanted to use Very Vintage Labels No. 5. This is my favorite image from the set. I kept it simple for this challenge.

I made a 5 x 5 card base and rounded the bottom corners of the card. Then I cut a strip of patterned paper and adhered it on the top portion. I also took a strip of washi tape and placed it under the patterned paper. I cut a strip of lace and zigzag stitched it in between.

 After stamping my label, I die cut it using a coordinating die from Spellbinders. Then I inked the edges to make it stand out. I also added a die cut circle with pinking edges. I've been having fun die cutting felt lately, so I used felt for the die cut. 

I added a butterfly to the center and adhered some pearls over it. For my sentiment, I die cut a banner die, also from Spellbinders. The sentiment is from Frame It. I just love the combination of fonts in this set.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 108

Hi there! It's another weekend and I have a few more cards to make. Today's card is for Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 108. I went through the submissions yesterday and found one gorgeous card after another. I'm really tired from work so I'll keep this short.

Today's sketch is inspired by our Design Team member, Belinda. 

The first thing I worked on when I saw this sketch was the tag. I die cut it and decided I wanted to use one of my new stamps. This one is from Heroines: Fairy Princess.

I stamped the fairy image directly on the stamp and then again on some patterned paper and cut out her dress. I stamped it once more to get a different colored ribbon. I adhered it over the image and colored in the rest of the image using my Distress Markers. I also added a tiny strip of patterned paper for my sentiment.

When I was done with my tag, I started working on my card base. I wanted it to be dainty just like the little fairy. I cut out a strip of pink patterned paper and ran it through my Martha Stewart punch. I added lace and a strip of ribbon to it as well. I used it as a skirt for my background panel. 

For my background panel I stamped these cute star images from Midnight Feast. It looked like it was missing something, so I added a little texture in the form of dry embossing. I ran my card through my Cuttlebug using my Chevron Impression Plate.

The Craft's Meow July 2012 Release Blog Hop

Hello again! I'm back one last time for The Craft's Meow July 2012 Release Blog Hop. You finally made it to the end! How was the release for you? See anything you like? Perhaps everything?! :) Did you just come from Jackie's blog? If you have then you're right where you should be. If not, you can start from the beginning at The Craft's Meow Blog.

Let's get right to it. I was very much inspired by a color challenge I saw over at The Play Date Cafe last week. I had no chance to join in their challenge but I still wanted to play with the colors anyway. So I used it on my card today.

I stamped the background with chevron stripes then adhere a strip of yellow patterned paper over it. I stamped a house image from Love Dwells Here on vintage cream cardstock then cut it out. I layered it over a label that I die cut.

Before I permanently adhered the yellow patterned paper, I zigzag stitched it. I also tied a ribbon around it to soften the look of the card.

I really loved this tag image in the set so I stamped it and cut it out, then added a little sentiment to it. I affixed it with some twine then added a button to finish it.

For my sentiment, I stamped this from Ladies & Gents then cut out the piece and adhered it with foam tape over the house.
