Wplys9 December/January Full Reveal Day

It's Full Reveal Day over at WPlus9! I know you've been waiting to see the full sets and dies that are coming out this December. The wait is finally over. This has been such a great release, with soo much inspiration from all the DT and specially from Dawn herself. Normally, we don't have to post any cards on Reveal Day, but since I had so much fun using these new stamps and dies, I wanted to share another one I made for you guys today.

But before I do that, here's the list of all the new stamp sets and dies that are out this month.

I wonder if you've noticed...but I've been using this frame from Bitty Buddy Valentines a LOT. I just LOVE it! It's so versatile, that just a change in the color you use takes it from cute to elegant, to shabby chic. And I love that about it.

I tried using navy blue ink to see where it would take the frame. And just randomly I put it down on a piece of light gray patterned paper from PTI. And just peeking from the sides, there was  piece of kraft cardstock there as well. After that, I just saw a Nautical theme in all of this. And I LOVE anything Nautical!

Before I continued on with the card, I stamped this beautiful sentiment from Cupid's Arrow in the center of the frame. I stamped it again in red and cut out the banner in the middle and attached it to the original sentiment with some foam adhesives.

Now that I'm looking at it again, I wish I had embossed the kraft with a woodgrain embossing folder. Anyway, I adhered the patterned paper on the kraft card base. Then I attached the frame onto it and tied some jute over it to bring out the Nautical theme I was going for. 

To finish things off, I die cut a sand dollar and sea star and stamped the coordinating images on them. They're from Guiding Light.

WPlus9 December/January Release Previews - Day 3

Oh my goodness. I spent all afternoon and evening decorating the our tree. We bought new ornaments because I decided that this year we would be having a shabby chic tree. I'm so glad I have my cards all ready for the release! I have no idea how I could have sneaked in card making this weekend. Too many things going on! And I have yet to try and make my first sugar cookies! :) I will update you on that later. Heehee.

Welcome to WPlus9 December/January Release Preview - Day 3! So many great things are coming your way!!! Every other month I'm always excited to see what Dawn has come up with. She is absolutely brilliant when it comes to her designs. Today, we are introducing Damask Delights with its coordinating dies, and Quite Like You.

I started by stamping one of the damask images, in the Damask Delights set, to make a patterned paper. I sewed it together with a strip of kraft cardstock that I embossed with a woodgrain pattern and inked with white pigment ink. 

Then I die cut the coordinating Damask Delight dies and stamped their images on them. I used them to frame my felt/crocheted flower.  I added some baker's twine from The Twinery. I finally encouraged myself to buy them! I have been eyeing them for the longest time but they were just not high enough on my want list that I haven't gotten any of them at all! But now that I do have them, I have to say that I love, love, love them!!!

 I stamped one of the sentiments from Quite Like You on a strip of patterned paper. I think you ladies are going to LOVE this sentiment set. I DO!!!! To finish it off, I took some Score Tape and adhered it to the bottom of the strip an generously spread some glitter onto it.

WPlus9 December/January Release Previews - Day 2

Welcome back! It's Day 2 of WPlus9's December/January Release Previews. If you haven't seen Day 1 just scroll down to view it! Today we're introducing Cupid's Arrow and it's Companion dies, Banner Love, and Clear Cut Stackers: Hearts Dies.

I sewed some patterned papers together and inserted a strip of white cardstock that I punched with the lace border. I loved the little frame from yesterday's previews Bitty Buddy Valentines that I used it again here. I sewed around the edges before I adhered it onto my card.

Then I stamped some Banner Dies in different colors and hand cut them.I arranged them over a clothes line I stamped from Heartfelt Mix. I added some buttons, pearls and ribbons to finish off the look.

 I stamped my sentiment from Cupid's Arrow onto a heart that I die cut with Clear Cut Stackers: Hearts Dies. Then I decorated it with a cupid image that I frosted with some glitter. I stamped my sentiment again in light blue ink and cut out the banner. Then I adhered it over the sentiment with some foam tape.

Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge 126

I can't believe it!!! I had this post all ready and saved 2 days ago. I check in a few hours before it's scheduled to post to add my little note above. Lo and behold, the whole post is erased! And there's no button I can hit to bring it back!!!!!! I think I could have cried!

Anyway, enough with that! I was so excited about this post because there was something that I wanted to try out. A few days ago I was looking through my favorite blogs and I stopped by Damask Love. I must have spent an entire morning just reading through her posts. (Sometimes I get so busy that I'm not able to look through all my favorites.) 

Anyway, I couldn't help but admire her photography and layouts. They almost always look like they came straight from magazines! So I tried a little something something of my own. Here it is. :) 

I toggled with my pictures on Adobe Illustrator and came up with this little layout. Hopefully I can make it something more permanent on my blog posts. 

This week's sketch is from my good friend Iwona "Chupa" Palamountain. I love it because it is so open to interpretation. And you know you can change things up a bit if you want. :)

I love this card. It has so many yummy details that I hope you will love too. First off, I dry embossed the kraft background with a Tim Holtz embossing folder. Then I rubbed some white pigment ink on the raised surfaces of the snowflakes to make them pop. Then I distressed the edges with another Tim Holtz tool.

I stamped and die cut the ornament from 2011 Holiday Ornaments in Aqua Mist. Then I stamped it again and heat embossed it in silver. I trimmed out portions of it and only kept the center with the reindeers. Then I attached it with some foam adhesive over the ornament. I also hand sewed the edges of the stamped image. I thought it made the card look more rustic. 

I also stamped some images from Festive Foliage and hand cut them. I attached them on the upper left hand corner of the ornament. I also heat embossed a sentiment from Compliments of the Season Two. I die cut it and placed it over the Festive Foliage.

Then for my main sentiment, I stamped this from Yonder Star twice. One in brown and the other in aqua mist. I cut a portion of the aqua mist and adhered in on top of the brown one. I cut the sentiment out and distressed the edges before adhering it onto the card.

WPlus9 December 2012 Release Previews

Hello! Hello! I hope you're not yet tired of seeing previews! Because I have MORE for you! This time we have the WPlus9 December 2012 Release Previews! I have been happily making my WPlus9 cards for the past few days. I wish I had more time because I really, really wanted to make MORE!!! 

A college friend is coming for a visit this week as well as my sister-in-law and her family. The tree has to be bought and decorated. Gifts have to be bought and wrapped. YES! I am that kind of person...LATE! lol! Well, before I get into the craziness that is the holidays, I would like to share my cards with you. 

Let's start with this one today. We're introducing Bitty Buddy Valentines stamp set and dies, and XoXo border die. Let's get on with it shall we...here's what I made for today's previews.

This has to be my favorite set for the December release. I love, love, love that cute little frame that comes with the set. I can think of sooo many uses for it! And not to mention the cute little images too!!! I actually combined a few stamps and dies that are meant for another day but we'll get into that tomorrow. :) 

I stamped the cute little frame in gray and used it to frame most of the elements of my card. Then I used the coordinating die cuts for the owls and stamped the images on them. I wanted to make a cute girl and boy owl. :)

I placed them over a circle that that I die cut twice. Once for the round shape and a second time for the heart shaped window. I stamped a couple of hearts on a piece of cardstock and placed them under the first circle I had initially made. I sandwiched some vellum in between to soften the look of the hearts.

It's not too obvious but I put some glitter on the "heart" circle frame as well. Don't you just love that sentiment?! I do!!! But I can't get into that yet. lol! Wait for it! The arrow and heart bulls eye also come from a different set and we will get into those tomorrow. I just added them because you know me! If I can add more elements, I WILL! :)

To finish things off, I pulled the yellow from my background paper and used my XoXo die to make a border at the bottom of the card. I used my Oatmeal Cardstock for most of the elements on the card as well as the card base.

For my card, I used Valentine Wishes, Beautiful Shelf, and Stitched Sentiments Two. I like to use different sets together to show how versatile they can be. :) 

 I made a 4.5 x 4.5 card. I stamped Xo from Valentine Wishes above and below to make a border before I stitched a panel of kraft cardstock in the middle. Then I die cut some labels and adhered them in the middle of the card. I stamped my sentiment from Stitched Sentiments Two on the top most label. I also stamped this sweet little lady and colored in some parts as well as paper pieced her skirt.

 I tucked in a little strip of crocheted lace on the bottom of the sentiment. And to finish things off, I stamped this little banner from Beautiful Shelf, cut it out and adhered it with foam adhesive on the upper left portion of the card.

The Craft's Meow November 2012 Release Previews - Day 4

Today, we're introducing Zoom Goes My Heart by Karen Baker. I love how trendy the images from this set are! You are going to love this!!! 

For my card, I chose this cute chevron patterned paper from My Mind's Eye. Then I picked out colors from it to use on the rest of the card. I stamped the speedometer image and layered it over a doily die cut. Both of which I layered once more on a banner that I cut out from some cardstock.

 

I added some crocheted lace, a ribbon, flower petals and a button over the upper left hand corner of the doily.

For my sentiment, I die cut a rectangular strip and stamped three hearts on it, then the sentiment above it.
