Hi there! I'm sure you've heard or seen about the new Hero Arts Shadow Ink colors, Soft Cantaloupe, Fresh Peach and Mint Julep. And if you're anything like me, you would want to see what these colors look like on paper. And even one step further, how it compares to your existing inks.
Well, I've stamped these colors against my Papertrey Ink colors because they seem to be the closest comparison. Also, these are my favorite inks so far. Here we go...
Sorry for the poor stamping, I was in a hurry when I made this. And I was also in a hurry taking these pictures. But you can see how it actually looks on white cardstock. The Soft Cantaloupe is lighter compared to Melon Berry. And Fresh Peach is also lighter than Berry Sorbet. The Soft Cantaloupe is more on the peach/orange side and the Fresh Peach is more on the pink side.
As for the Mint Julep...YEP...it's very minty. lol. I was hoping for lighter inks though. Here are some inspiration photos from Pinterest that I loved so much. When I saw these I was really, really hoping that these new inks would come close. Unfortunately, they didn't. But I still love them though. My favorite is the Soft Cantaloupe. I think these new inks are temporary though. So I hope the next ones they come out with comes closer to these colors that I'm looking for. That's it for today! :) I'll be back tomorrow with a card! :)
Thank you for the comparison Jean! This is really helpful especially for me :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comparison!
ReplyDeleteJean what a fantastic comparison. I am just getting going with HA inks. I have Soft Cantaloupe but haven`t used it yet. Your inpiration photos are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comparison. Soft Cantaloupe and Soft Pool are on my wishlist. It looks like the HA inks give a more even coverage when compared to the PTI inks.
ReplyDeleteYeah!! I found that stamping with the Distress Ink Stains also match well with the PTI and HA inks!! I used the EverGreen Bough and the Lipstick or Rose Distress Stains and they match really closely with both of these inks!! THANKS for sharing and have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)
ReplyDeleteVery timely, especially since I just ordered these and am (impatiently) awaiting their arrival. Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteI do like the look of HA coverage. I don't have any HA inks!
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you're wanting a lighter look, try stamping off on scrap paper once before stamping on your project. Depending on the ink, it actually works quite well!
I tried that but it doesn't work on shadow inks. Once you stamp it off nothing really happens when you stamp it again.
DeleteIf you want a light minty shade, try VersaMagic's Aquatic Splash - it is a great light mint!!
