WMSC 53

Hello bloggies! Sorry the blog hasn't been busy lately. We have relatives staying over for a month and so we've been a little busy. I haven't even joined some of my favorite challenges in quite a while. Sometimes I'm saddened by it...but what can you do? I just hope for a little craft time every day.

I'm back this Saturday for Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 53. This week's sketch is by the talented Ms. Belinda Chang Langner. To which, I must admit, to having a bit of a hard time. Hee! :) Here's the sketch for WMSC53.

Here's my take on this sketch challenge. I was at a baby shower a few weeks ago and the color theme was pink. orange and yellow. I must admit, the colors just stuck to me. I usually prefer neutral and pastel colors...but these were just yummy together! :)

For the background, I used my Dainty Doilies - Large Set from WMS. I just love this set. I know I'm not making as much as I can with it. But I'm trying. :) The sentiment is from Join Us, also from WMS. I stamped them on these banners that I die cut. Then I adhered them onto this doily that I also die cut. The dies are from PTI.

Did you notice something with my card this week? There's no lace or ribbon or flower on it!!!! Ahhhhh!!!! Hahaha! lol! :) I hope you like it though! I'll see you over at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog ok?! :) Enjoy your weekend!

As always, don't forget to browse through the cards of the other Mischief Makers as well as Waltzingmouse Stamp Design Team sites.

June - All Eyes On You

***Don't forget to check out my card as a Shabby Tea Room Guest Designer...right here.***

Hi bloggies! This is my first All Eyes on You for WPlus9 stamps. And we're supposed to pick a card from the Flicker gallery and CASE it. There were soooo many gorgeous cards there that it took me a while to choose. You know I'm a Sarah Martina Parker fan, and so of course, it's just natural that I gravitate towards her cards. lol! I chose to CASE this card...

I just love how Sarah uses different embellishments and combines them so perfectly. Here's my version of her card.

I used the butterfly from Flora and Fauna 1 to make the background. I stamped it and heat emboss it white, the I covered it with vellum to soften the look. I used Woodgrain Silhouette Additions then die cut it into a tag. Then I added the rest of the embellishments to CASE Sarah's card as much as I could. :) I love the soft colors that I used here, then that punch of bright pink in the center. I can't wait for the next All Eyes on You...this is so much fun! :)

Don't forget to check out the rest of the team! :)

The Shabby Tea Room Week 67 - Guest Designer

Hi friends! I have some fun news! I was lucky enough to be chosen as a winner over at The Shabby Tea Room a month ago. And as a result, I'm guest designing for this week's The Shabby Tea Room Week 67!

This week's inspiration is based on this delicious picture! And it's super cute to boot! :) The challenge involves using polka dots or gingham or both! :) I'm pretty sure a lot of you will love the challenge and inspiration for this week's challenge.

I have two cards for this week. I made one and wasn't so sure about it and decided to make another one a day after. And NOW, I can't decide which one I want to post!!! lol! So I'm just going to post both and cross my fingers that you like them! haha! Here they are...

This is the first card I made. I tried to use as much of the inspiration photo as possible. I used the colors, red and pink as well as the cupcake image. The gingham stamp is from Waltzingmouse Stamps. The cupcake and seed packet stamps are from Papertrey Ink. I tried to keep this one simple and straight forward. I hope you like it. :)

For my second card, I went a bit more...how should I say it...shabby-chicier? lol! I stamped the polka dot background using a PTI background stamp, then I inked the edges with some white metallic paint. I also stamped the gingham from Waltzingmouse Stamps again and laid it on top of the background panel.

And since I can't get enough of this Garden Variety stamp from Papertrey Ink...I HAD to use it again. Only this time, I added more lace and a doily. :) This card didn't coordinate with the inspiration photo as much...but I still used the polka dots and gingham for variety. I was almost sure you would be seeing a ton of red and pink cards. So I made one that wasn't. :) I hope you like this one too!

Head on over to The Shabby Tea Room and join in all the fun! There's more inspiration waiting there for all of you! :)

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 52

Hi everyone! Today is Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge's one year anniversary! Can you believe it?! I've always been a fan of WMSC and I can't believe it's only been a year. I hope that throughout that year, WMSC has brought you a lot of fun and inspiration along the way.

We have something special for everyone this week. Since it's WMSC's one year anniversary, we are doing things a little different. Instead of one sketch, each Mischief Maker/Design Team Member picked their favorite sketch out of the lot and made a card with it. You can choose from the sketches that we've chosen to base your submission on.  Make sure to check out Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge for more of the details.

Let's get on with it shall we? For my favorite sketch, I chose, sketch #9. I've always loved to decorate my cards with flowers. And so it would be quite obvious that I LOVE this sketch to pieces! :)

As always, it's completely open for your interpretation. Here's my card for WMSC 9.

I used Very Vintage Label No. 5 to stamp my label. I stamped the smaller label stamp and used the flourish to decorate the insides. The sentiment is from Join Us. I added some gorgeous flowers, lace and a butterfly (of course).

I actually checked out my submission from WMSC9. I wasn't a Mischief Maker then, and the first thought that came to mind was that I've come a long way since then! lol! I think this one looks a whole LOT better! Hehe! :)

This is going to be so much fun. Not to mention, Claire has always been very generous...and so I'm pretty sure there are prizes involved!!! So what are you waiting for?! Come join us over at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 52

As always, don't forget to browse through the cards of the other Mischief Makers as well as Waltzingmouse Stamp Design Team sites.

Color Cue 16

***If you're looking for my GIVEAWAY...it's right here.***

Hi friends! Every 15th of the month, we have a wonderful color challenge for everyone over at the WPlus9 Design Studio Blog. Even before I became a member of the WPlus9 Design Team, I've always loved joining this color challenge. And nothing has changed since. I might have missed one or two because of other DT projects, but I try my best to join every month. Besides you have ALL month to make a card! So what are you waiting for?! :)

Here's this month's color combo:

Ok...so it might be a toughie for some of us...but that's why they call it a challenge! lol! If everything was easy, what fun would that be? Here's my card for my first ever Color Cue Color Challenge as a DT member! :) Color Cue 16.

I used my favorite stamp set for this card. Flora and Fauna. It's absolutely beautiful. I stamped two images and fussy cut the top and bottom flowers so that I could layer them with foam tape. I think doing that gives it so much more depth and interest. I also colored the flowers using chalk ink and a blender pen. I used sage, but sadly it's not too obvious here.

The lovely patterned paper is Wisteria from Basic Gray. When I saw the plum and aqua flowers on it, I grabbed it immediately. I was a little stumped before...but when I saw this patterned paper I knew what I wanted to do immediately. Of course I still had no idea how I was going to incorporate the red in there. lol! But this baker's twine was a wonderful addition and a great pop of color. I hope you're liking this card...head on over to the other WPlus9 girls for more inspiration. :)

Happy 200+ and a GIVEAWAY!!!

Hi friends! I have no card today. Busy making some of my DT cards for this week. But, I have something even BETTER! Remember when I said that I was going to have a GIVEAWAY for my wonderful followers(you) once I reached 200?! Well, today is the day ladies! :)

I was trying to think of what to give. And it just so happens that my PTI order came in today. And when I opened the box, I found a wonderful surprise! I qualified for their anniversary set! And the best part was, I had an EXTRA stamp set! It's such a perfect giveaway since PTI is one of my favorite crafting companies online. They've inspired me so much ever since I started crafting.

This stamp set is absolutely gorgeous! I'm sorry but I'm only having the giveaway for my followers. So leave a comment on this post and I'll pick out a random number to give the PTI stamp set to. You'll have until this Saturday, June 18, 11:59pm. I'll announce the winner on Sunday, June 19.

I would like to take this time to thank my friends/followers for all of the wonderful comments you've left me since I started this blog. It really means a lot to me to find these comments at the end of a tiring day. It makes it all better! :)

Good luck! And I hope you like the giveaway! :)

Papercrafts Magazine: Gallery Idol 2011

Good morning bloggies! I'm spending a nice Sunday bumming around the house. lol! I used to do this a lot with my sister. And now that I'm far away, I'm bumming with my husband this time. Haha! I came across my friend Chupa's post today. And I have to say, that I feel the same way she does when it comes to Papercrafts Magazine submissions. They're more into the CAS style of card making and it's quite hard to get any of my cards in.

But I was inspired by her courage and seeing as the audition required a congratulations card I thought I would give it a try. My cousin-in-law just gave birth this Friday to a beautiful baby girl. And a congratulations card was in order. :)

And so...with my fingers crossed...here's my submission for the Papercrafts Magazine: Gallery Idol!

I started by stamping a newsprint background from (PTI) in wheat chalk ink. Then I added the strip of pink patterned paper on the left side of the panel. I've been wanting to use my newly purchased lace pieces and I thought it would fit just perfectly for this card. I also attached this gorgeous ribbon for a pop of dark color.

To even out the lace and ribbon on the left side, I stamped some PTI stamps on the right side of the panel. I tried to keep it simple but still me. I hope I hit the mark for this one! Are you planning on joining too! Let's all go! You never know! :)

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 51

Hi bloggies! I'm back for another round of Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge today! I hope your week has been well. I hope this will be a restful weekend for everyone. For this week, we have a wonderful and whimsical sketch by Miss Belinda Chang Langner. Isn't this super cute? Welcome to Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 51.

I couldn't decide on what I wanted to do with this sketch in the beginning. When that happens to me, I just pull out all of my Waltzingmouse stamps and go over them. I always come up with something after I've looked at each and everyone of them. Talk about inspiration! Let's get your stamps inky! Here's my card for this week's challenge.

I haven't used my Dainty Doilies enough since I got them in. They were PERFECT for this sketch! I stamped them in different colors and layered the smaller pieces over the larger pieces. They also looked a bit like flowers to me, and so i fussy cut these butterflies from some patterned papers and adhered them with foam tape. I also added some ribbon because as you know me...I couldn't help myself! lol! :) The sentiment is also from Waltzingmouse Stamps, it's from their gorgeous Say It Loud stamp set. I hope you're liking this! I'll see you over at WMSC?! :)

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 50 and CR84FN31 and a trip to M&J Trimming

If you're looking for my Card Patterns guest DT card, it's right here.***

Hi friends! After getting much rest and some retail therapy, I managed to make a card this morning. But before I get to that...I want to tell all of you about my exciting trip to the city yesterday to visit M&J Trimmings. If you're unfamiliar with it, it's a store in Manhattan that sells, trims, ribbons, buttons, flowers, and anything else you can associate with them. I didn't take any pictures but I got some off of the internet which is pretty much what the place looks like.

As I walked into the store this greeted me...a WALL of ribbons! There were satin, printed, organza, gross grain, etc. You name it, they HAD it! I felt like a kid who just walked into a HUGE toy store! lol! And then as I went through the store...I found these...

And at the very back of the store...oh my goodness...I think my heart must have skipped a beat! lol! I found THESE....

It was a wall of lace!!! Crochet, venise, eyelets...etc. I spent an hour in this store and my husband had to walk 10 blocks to go visit his favorite store because I was taking too long. Hahaha! But he was such a sweet heart about it. We made the trip to the city just so I could visit this store. Well, we did go see the Harry Potter Exhibit as well...but it was nothing compared to this. Heehee! :P So if you're ever here in NYC, don't forget to visit M&J Trimmings!

Now onto the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 50 and CR84FN31. I felt bad not coming up with a card for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. I always try not to miss any DT posts if I can help it. But since I missed posting one yesterday, I'm making up for it today. Aside from using the sketch, I incorporated the colors over at CR84FN31 as well. Here's the sketch and color combination.

Here's my card. I was a little stumped with the sketch in the beginning. But last night I had this idea in my head. I wanted to use these Spellbinders dies to make the squares for my card. I also stamped Text It behind on the vintage cream cardstock and inked the edges of the panel. I also die cut the fancy label and stamped Fancy Phrases on it. I used the Venise lace I got from M&J Trimmings on it since it was what gave me the idea for the card. Isn't it beautiful?! I don't think I bought enough lace though. Haha! Looks like we'll be making another trip to the city in the near future.

It's not very visible because it's transparent, but there's a bead hanging from the ribbon, I also got it from the M&J Trimmings. It's actually a yard of ribbon with a LOT of beads attached to it. I bought it because of the beads and that I would be getting the pre-made bead "charm" for a cheap price without having to go through the trouble of making the charm myself. Hehe. I hope you like my pictures and my card! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :)

Card Patterns Guest Designer: Sketch 118

Hi bloggies! Wow this whole week was crazy for me. I know it's been a bit quiet around here, but I wasn't feeling too well since Thursday. I'm exhausted coming home late from work for a few days now. I didn't get back home until 10:30 last night. It was crazy!

I didn't participate in the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge this week as I just couldn't make a card to save my life! I'll make up for it next week I promise!

Instead, I have a card for Card Patterns Sketch 118. I'm the Guest Designer for this week! Yay! How exciting is that?!

It's a really good thing I was able to make my card last weekend or else I have no idea how I could have come up with this yesterday! Well, without further ado...here's Card Patterns Sketch 118.

And here's my card! Since the challenge I won was sponsored by The Craft's Meow, I thought it would be appropriate to use their stamps for my card this week. I used Celebrating You and Timeless Tags. As I said before, Celebrating You is my favorite set for the June release. It's just sooo beautiful! I also used Text It from Waltzingmouse Stamps. It's one of my favorite background stamps to use.

I colored in the petals (are you surprised?! lol!) and I cut and made multiple pieces of some parts to layer onto each other. I just found it more beautiful that way. I also love the inked pink patterned paper from My Mind's Eye. Ok it doesn't look like it's a patterned paper, but it's actually aged on the sides and in some parts of the center panel. I also raised the center of the tag to balance things out. I hope you like my card for Card Patterns Sketch 118! I'll be out for most of the day today, but if I get home early maybe I can make a card for Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge! Have a wonderful weekend everyone! :)

Ok. So I know fuchsia's are hanging flowers. LOL! But who says we have to follow the norm?! Hahaha! Besides...it looks fabulous in this angle as well. :) I kept my card simple, the stamp is doing all the work for me anyway. :P Isn't it just gorgeous?! It's my favorite set from the whole release, which is why I chose to work with it for the final day of our blog hop.  I just stamped the fuchsia on a Melissa Frances panel and adhered it onto a My Mind's Eye patterned paper.

I don't know if you can see...but I also used the intricate doily image from Simply Delightful, also from TCM. Then I just added some of my favorite embellishments and viola! One TCM Blog Hop card for you! :)
