Happy Anniversary!!!

Hi friends! I don't have a card for you tonight. I just wanted to make a shout out for my sweet hubby. Happy Anniversary Babe!!!! It's our second year anniversary, and to celebrate, we're going to Florida for a week to relax and have fun.

I'm sure there will be a whole bunch of card challenges when I get back. But until then, I'll enjoy my vacation! Hopefully, there'll be some nice craft/hobby stores where we're going!!! :) See you all in a week's time!!! Enjoy!!!

Colour Q Challenge #43

Hi everyone! I made a really simple card tonight for the Colour Q Challenge. I broke out some of my SU stamp sets. I noticed I wasn't using them enough. I also just got some JustRite Stamps that I wanted to try out. My goodness, it wasn't so bad putting the tiny letters into the slots of the 2" round stamp, but the clean up!!! It was so hard to clean, the letters kept on coming off every time I tried to clean them. In the end, I had to do it individually. If there's someone out there who knows how to clean them please feel free to drop me a comment. I would really, really appreciate it!

Saturday is just around the corner! I'm so excited to finally get some "long" vacation time. Well, a week isn't so long, but it's better than nothing! I was planning on going to the CHA super show, but changed my mind the last minute. I didn't think my husband would enjoy it at all. Another time perhaps!

Anyway, here's the Colour Q Challenge # 43.

Supplies:
Cardstock - dark chocolate, hawaiian shores, white (PTI), peach (DCWV)
Stamps - Trendy Trees, Eastern Blooms (SU), Distressed Stripes (PTI), sentiment (JustRite Stampers)
Others - dies (Spellbinders)

Thinking of You

Hi peeps! I hope your week is going great so far. As I said in my previous post, I wanted to put out as many cards as I can before I go on vacation for a week on Saturday. I made a card tonight using  my Spellbinders Label 8 die that I just got last weekend. And my butterfly dies have been resting for quite some time so I decided to pull them out as well. I also got my hands on some Cosmo Cricket patterned paper which I'm totally loving!!! I've also been seeing a lot of October Afternoon recently. Hopefully I can get my hands on those too! :)

As I was going through some of my favorite blogs, I noticed that with every card I really liked, the designer had used patterned paper upon patterned paper. I must admit, it's very hard for me to put several patterned papers together. But I'm slowly trying to get the hang of choosing what goes with what. This card is also one of my "tries" in patterned paper building. :) I hope you like it. I used a very simple sketch for it. Enjoy!

Supplies:
Card stock - kraft, spring moss (PTI), gray (Paper Company)
Patterned paper - Cosmo Cricket, My Mind's Eye
Stamps - sentiment (SU), Turning a new Leaf (PTI)
Others - butterfly dies (SU), tag (Provo Craft), label 8 (Spellbinders), rhinestones(Queen & Co.)

Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 40

Hi friends. I made a quick card tonight using the colors of the Curtain Call Color Challenge. I've always wanted to try to use Papertrey Ink's Dot Spot this way so many times. Now, I've been given a chance to do so. The colors for Act 40's challenge are so bright and fun. It was a little harder for me since I like to use pastel and neutral tones. But I hope I did an ok job on this one none-the-less. Here's the color combination:

I don't have any SU colors as of now, so I tried to use colors I had that were as close to the challenge as possible. The little sentiment was from one of those $1 stamp sets at AC Moore and Michael's. Isn't it great? It's good to know you can still get a lot out of a dollar. :) Anyway, I hope you all enjoy your week! I can't wait for this Saturday to leave for our trip!!!!

Papertrey July Blog Hop Challenge / SFYTT

Hi peeps! Just as promised! I'm trying to join as many challenges as I can this weekend before I leave for Florida for a week. In today's Papertrey July Blog Hop Challenge participants have to incorporate basic office supplies in their projects. Well, what could be more basic than a paper clip? I adhered a satin flower to a paper clip and attached it to my center piece. I used some of the remnants of my Cosmo Cricket patterned paper so as not to waste it. I was inspired by the soft tones in the patterned paper. I used my favorite Papertrey Ink color, Aqua Mist. I used it as a card base and as an ink for my Violets stamp. I also incorporated the SFYTT sketch, hitting two birds with one stone. Not that anyone should be hitting any birds!!! Haha! Here it is, enjoy!

Supplies:
Cardstock - Aqua Mist, Vintage Cream, Kraft (PTI)
Patterned Paper - Cosmo Cricket
Stamps - Violets (PTI), Sentiment (SU)
Others - ribbon (Offray), embossing folder (Provocraft), buttons (Walmart), dies (Spellbinders)

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #7

Hi everyone! My husband and I are going to Florida for vacation next week and so I'm trying to join as many challenges as I can...not doing so very well so far...but hey! I didn't want to leave all of you hanging so I'll try to post as many cards this week before I go disappear next week! :) I was browsing through AC Moore yesterday and couldn't believe they had some Cosmo Cricket patterned paper in their stock. I had to get my hands on some of them! I've been seeing so many of my favorite designers use them and I had to try to get some too!.

Here's the sketch for the challenge.

I used my butterfly dreams and the swirls are actually from the bee stamp from Bitty Baby Blessings. If you can believe it, I actually separated the swirls from the bee wings. I found that I used the swirls in several projects and didn't need the bee wings. It was so hard to ink the swirl and not the wings. And so I did something I learned from Kristina Werner...I cut the stamp into two pieces!!!! (SHOCK!!!) I know! But I used straight angles and so if I wanted to use them together it would really be easy to just put them together again on an acrylic block. I love this patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket! Both are actually from the same sheet, they were just back to back. I couldn't decide which one I wanted more so I used both! :) I hope you all like it! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I {heart} 2 Stamp Sketch

Hi everyone! I hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start. I was going through my favorite blogs this morning and I found I {heart} 2 stamp's sketch. I loved the card samples from their design team and I wanted to try my hand at it too. It's actually great that I can use my own colors on this sketch rather than having to follow specific colors. I've been wanting to put some patterned paper together. This was my chance! :) I used my cherry blossom stamp from Rubber Stampede. I love this stamp! I was so glad to have gotten it on sale and it was the last one there too!

Anyway, here's the sketch and my submission for this challenge.

Supplies:
Cardstock - sweet blush, white (PTI), cream, pink (Paper Company)
Patterned Paper - Green Boutique (PTI), Designer Mat Pad (K & Company)
Stamps - cherry blossom (Rubber Stampede), sentiment (PTI)
Others - dies (Spellbinders), buttons (Walmart), chipboard flower (Making Memories), colored pencils

PDCC39

Hi everyone! It's a bit late and I have to wake up really early tomorrow, so I don't really have a lot to blog about today. I just wanted to submit my card for the Play Date Cafe color challenge. It's such a great neutral color combination. I LOVE neutral. In fact, my sisters complain that I wear too much white and grey. Hee! Anyway, here's my card. I hope you all like it! Yay! It's almost the weekend! Enjoy!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock - vintage cream, black (PTI), grey, light taupe (Paper Company)
Patterned Paper - Anna Griffin, K & Company
Stamps - sentiment, Dot Spot (PTI)
Others -dies (Spellbinders)

Embellish Magazine Color Challenge with Ric Rac #2

Hi peeps! This is my second post for the night. If you haven't seen the first one just scroll down! :)
This is my second submission for the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge. I wasn't so happy about how my first card turned out so I thought I would try to make another one tonight. This one turned out much better! :) I used my favorite flower stamp set from PTI, Year of Flowers: Violets. Well, my flower isn't violet but then it is MY card. hee!

I used Memories ink to stamp the flower. Then I used my water color marker and water color pencils to color in the flower.  Surprisingly, the Memories ink didn't bleed at all. I loved that! Finally, an alternative to Staz on!

I really love this color combination. It just feels so young and fresh. Anyway, without further ado...here's my #2 submission for Embellish Magazine Color Challenge with Ric Rac.

Supplies:
Cardstock - dark chocolate, kraft, Hawaiian shores, white (PTI), orange (Paper Company)
Stamps - Year of Flowers, Polka dot basics 2 (PTI)
Ink - Versamark, Memories
Others - ribbon (Wendy), edge punch (EK Success), ric rac die (PTI), water color pencils, water color marker

Sprinkles and Smiles

Hi friends! I've been wanting to use my Cupcake Collection stamp set again since I got it two weeks ago. I combined some patterned papers to make a nice colorful backdrop for my little cute cupcake. I loved the look of the patterned paper so much. I'm thinking I should collect more patterned paper. You can never have too many right? :)

Also, for the first time, I put a little something in the inside of my card. I used dark chocolate for my card base and I thought it would be nice to have something in there to make it easier to use the card. There's a local fair coming soon in our neighborhood and I was trying to decide if I should make some cards to sell. Has anyone here done that before? Is it a good idea? And what cards sets should I make? I was thinking, thank you cards and baby cards...what else should I make? Advanced Christmas cards would be great, but I don't have a lot of Christmas related stamps at the moment. Anyway...here's my card...I don't even know how to classify this one...enjoy!

Supplies:
Card stock - dark chocolate, white, aqua mist (PTI)
Patterned paper - green botique (PTI), green polka dots (K & Company), stripes (Paper Pizzaz)
Stamps - Cupcake collection (PTI)
Others - ribbon (Wendy), dies (Spellbinders)

Timeless Templates

Hi peeps! This is my second post for the evening. I recently discovered the joy of Papertrey Ink's Timeless Templates. And I have to tell you, they are sooo much fun!!! I got some of them the other night and I spent the ENTIRE night decorating and assembling one! I can't remember what this one is called, but I'm pretty sure it's easy to find in the Papertrey Ink website. I made this little kitchen organizer for my mother-in-law who loves to cook. I enjoyed every minute making it!!! And it looks like I'll probably make more next time!!!!

I made the recipe cards on Adobe Illustrator. I made all this in one night. I shouldn't have rushed it and put more yummy stuff inside. But she loved it just the same! :) Try it! It's really loads of fun and the possibilities are endless!!! Enjoy!

Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 39

Hi friends! Curtain Call has another color challenge for this week. I think this is such a wonderful color combination. It's so calm and relaxing! Unfortunately, I don't have any Stampin' Up cardstock or inks so I hope my colors are close enough to what the challenge calls for. I've been thinking of getting their inks for quite some time now. I'm a Colorbox person. I love Colorbox. I love that it dries instantly and so it's not messy. But I also love the colors of Stampin' Up. I should really look for reviews on people who've used this product. (Which I'm pretty sure is a lot!)

Anyway, back to the color challenge. I wanted to keep the majority of the card white with only a little touches of greens and kraft. I wanted to keep the calm and relaxing feel of the inspiration picture within my card. Here it is, I hope you like it! This is my submission for Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 39.

Supplies:
Cardstock - white, kraft (PTI), green (Paper Company)
Stamps - Turning a New Leaf, Mega Mixed Messages (PTI), 2" decorative rings (Just Rite Stampers)
Ink - green (Colorbox), black (Memories)
Others - embossing folder (Cuttlebug), ribbon (Offray)

TESC121

Hi peeps! It's Monday again tomorrow. But before the weekend is over I wanted to join a card challenge. I found this challenge in one of the blogs I follow. The sketch looks really fun! I had my Papertrey Ink Dotty Biscotti in hand and I really really wanted to use it. It was the inspiration for the color combination for this card aside from the sketch itself. I stamped some 5th Ave. Florals on some card stock and colored away with my water color pencils. Then I used odorless paint thinner to even out the coloring. It's a great alternative for people who don't have Copic markers. :) Although, I would LOVE to get my hands on some!!! I try to convince myself to get a few colors at a time, but every time I order from PTI I find myself wanting to order more stamp sets instead!!! Oh well! For now, this will have to do!

So here it is! My submission for Taylored Expressions SC121

Supplies:
Cardstock - kraft, vintage cream (PTI), sand, yellow,yellow-orange (Paper Company)
Patterned Paper - SEI, Dotty Biscotti (PTI)
Stamps - 5th Ave. Florals (SU), Simply Stationery (PTI)

Green Boutique

Hi peeps! Today, I decided I would make a card on my own without a challenge to follow. Along with my PTI order that came in this week was Heather Nichols Green Boutique patterned paper. I've been seeing this all over the place. I have always loved it and I have no idea why I waited until now to get it. I had no idea what I wanted to make. I only knew that I wanted to use my Green Boutique patterned paper and an elephant :) yes an elephant! Haha! Of course since an elephant was involved it just had to be a baby card. So I stamped on some cardstock, cut out some patterned paper, layered them...and here was the end result! I just love this card! Isn't it just adorable?! Enjoy!

Supplies: Almost all supplies are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.
Cardstock - Ocean tides, Aqua mist, gray (Paper Company)
Patterned Paper - Green Boutique
Stamps - Bitty Baby Blessings, Baby Button Bits, Distressed Stripes
Others - buttons (Walmart)

Here's the color combination for Color Cue #6.
I love the soft color combination. And anything with a pink tinge combined with brown in it...I LOVE!!! I used my Butterfly Dreams stamp set and stamped my favorite butterfly in the set. Then  I put some glitter glue on it for some added sparkle.  I hope my card is Classy and Elegant enough for the Moxie Fab World challenge! :)

Here it is! Happy Saturday!

Stamps - Turning a New Leaf, Mega Mixed Messages, Butterfly Dreams, Distressed Stripes (PTI)

Yesterday Cards

Hi peeps! This is me second post for tonight. I made some cards yesterday to test out my new stamp sets. I was up so late that I didn't have the time to post them last night. So, here they are! I used Cup Cake Collection, Distressed Stripes, Butterfly Dreams, and Simply Stationery. As for the supplies almost everything was made with Papertrey Ink products.

Embellish Magazine Color Challenge with Ric Rac

Hi peeps! Finally it's Friday! I couldn't wait for the weekend. My order from PTI just came in and I was sooo excited to use everything!!! I don't normally compete with everyone else in ordering the new releases. I just wait a few months before all the hype dies down and I can get them easily. And I ALWAYS, always order before the 15th, because then my order comes in much faster :)

On to the challenge from Embellish Magazine. I love love love this color combination! It's so fun!!! I managed to use one of the stamp sets I just got this week. I used the cute and simple butterfly from Butterfly Dreams stamp set. I don't know why, but when I saw this color combination the first thing that came to mind was my Friends 'till the End flower. So I stamped it on Hawaiian Shores cardstock and painstakingly cut it out. I used some Paper Glaze on the center to add more dimension.  I also just bought designer paper from PTI, I placed an orange Dotty Biscotti strip underneath the flower. And finally, I placed my orange ric rac underneath the strip :)

Have a great weekend! Enjoy!

Supplies:
Cardstock - kraft, Vintage Cream, Hawaiian Shores (PTI), brown, orange (Paper Company)
Patterned Paper - Dotty Biscotti (PTI)
Stamps - Friends till the end, Butterfly Dreams (PTI)
Others - ric rac die (PTI), rhinestones (Walmart), ribbon (Offray)

Colour Q #41

Hi peeps! Colour Q has another challenge for this week. Whenever I see this color combination the first thing I think about is Damask. And what better stamp set to use than PTI's Damask Designs. It's such a girlie color combination, I love it! I haven't used my floral Cuttlebug embossing folder for quite a while. This is the perfect time to use it, I think. There's a hint of texture to the card but not too overpowering. I love how this turned out.

I've been slowly building up my Spellbinders dies collection. Perhaps after I have all the dies I want I can start collecting Copic markers. :) Anyway, here it is, Colour Q #41, enjoy!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock - black, pink, gray (Paper Company), Raspberry fizz (PTI)
Patterned Paper - Me and My Big Ideas
Ribbon - Wendy
Buttons - Walmart
Embossing Folder - Cuttlebug

I thought I would try to catch up on my card making. I couldn't get this challenge out of my mind. My first two cards were on the more serious side. I wanted to make a fun, whimsical one with the colors of the challenge. Nothing says "whimsical" more than polka dots! :) So, for the LAST time...here's my submission for the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge "Invitations" Enjoy!

CPS 175 and Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 38

Hi peeps! It's Monday again! I made a card for the CPS 175 challenge and Curtain Call Act 38 last night but it was too late to post. So here it is. I had a great time making this card. I was going through JoAnn's last Saturday because they had a 40% off sale on their paper crafting supplies. I found this beautiful cherry blossom stamp. I think it might be the same stamp I saw in one of the blogs I love to follow, I'm not sure. But I just had to get it! I'm not very comfortable with using violet or anything even remotely close to that color. So I thought I would use as less of it as I possibly could. I know cherry blossoms are supposed to peach/pink in color...but what the heck...who's making the card here anyway?! Hahaha! I colored the flowers violet, it still looks good to me! :)

And if you don't already know, I don't know how to sew or use a sewing machine. Which is why I'm sooo glad for stitch stamps! I used one here from Hampton Arts. It's a really great set of stitches. I enjoyed using it a lot. I am thinking of buying a little sewing machine in the future though...I hope I don't end up destroying it before I learn how to use it! Heee! I was thinking of getting the mini Janome. Is that a good enough sewing machine for a paper crafter who has no clue on how to use a sewing machine? :) Anyway, here's my submission! Enjoy!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock - vintage cream, spring moss (PTI), pink, orange (Paper Company)
Stamps - cherry blossoms (Rubber Stampede), Turning a New Leaf (PTI), stitches (Hampton Arts)
Ink - Colorbox
