Sweet Taste of Summer and One Scopp or Two?

Hi there friends! Back for more TCM goodies? I hope you enjoyed yesterday's previews. We're back today for Day 2 of The Craft's Meow July Release Previews. We're introducing Sweet Taste of Summer and One Scoop or Two?

Let's get started with Sweet Taste of Summer from Mabelle R-O. This one is a cutie! I think this is the first time I've ever used images of people on my card aside from silhouettes. It was a bit of a hurdle when it came to coloring the images. I know I need more practice in that department, but I hope I managed to bring out the cuteness in this one.

I stamped the image of the cute girl in her little swim suit and started coloring it in. Then I thought something was missing underneath so I put some sand beneath her feet. This one is from It's a Shore Thing.

After everything was colored in, I couldn't decide what to add to the top. So I cut a strip of striped patterned paper and went on from there. I was looking through a magazine earlier and saw a card there which used tags side by side like this. So I took some tag images from another TCM stamp (I can't mention it yet...but it's coming!!!) and came up with this. The letters came from It's a Banner Day.

It looked finished enough, but I had so much white space on the left side of my card. So I grabbed Thanks Bee to Thee and stamped different hexagon images on the side. I then stamped my sentiment over it in black so that it would stand out. The level of the tags above the card seemed to make things unbalanced. So I stamped two more hexagon images and cut them out. I adhered them with foam tape to balance things out.

Next up, we have One Scoop or Two? Perfect set for the summer and absolutely fun! This one is from our dear Amy Wanford. I picked out some fun and summery patterned papers and cut them out. I adhered them in a column and layered more patterned paper over it. I zigzag stitched a strip of green cardstock on one end to balance the green on the other side.

Then I die cut a doily and adhered it in the middle. I stamped my ice cream image on vintage cream cardstock and cut them out. I layered it over my doily with foam tape to add some dimension to the card.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw my washi tapes. I haven't used them much and decided that they would go perfectly with my card. So I got two strips of different washi tapes and placed it on the lower portion of my card. I added a ribbon to keep things feminine. (I couldn't help myself)

For my sentiment, I stamped it on a banner and inked the edges. It looked a little plain to me, so I took the sprinkles and stamped it underneath my sentiment.

That's all I have for today! I forgot to mention yesterday, as with every release, Lisa is giving away one of each of these sets to some lucky winners. All you have to do is to leave a message in The Craft's Meow Store Blog

Also, make sure to check out the rest of the team, they have a whole lot more inspiration in store for you! I'll see you all again tomorrow! Enjoy the rest of your week! :)
