Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 117

Hello there! It's finally the weekend yay! It's been such a gloomy week. I hope this rain goes away next week. I haven't been feeling very well. I think I might have carpal tunnel syndrome. My left hand has been hurting for days. I have yet to see my doctor to figure out what's wrong. There's pain on the back of my hand that shoots up my arm. I know that carpal tunnel syndrome has numbness as one of it's symptoms but so far I haven't had those.

It's also going to be a busy weekend. I have to help a friend with a baby shower and there's an upcoming release next week that I have to make cards for. Whew! I'm just hoping it all goes smoothly and I get everything done in time.

So, here we go. It's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 117. This one is from Kelly! Enjoy!

Here's my submission for this week's sketch. I followed the sketch quite loosely. Instead of a label, I chose to use a star and some Christmas images for my card. I used Seasons of Love - Tags for the star. I stamped it with Aqua Mist ink then I applied some glitter on it.

The sentiment is from Very Vintage Christmas. I stamped it in red then stamped it again in Ocean Tides. Then layered the Ocean Tides strip over the red image. I also put some glitter on the edges of the tag.

In the sketch, there were 3 flowers on the bottom of the label. Instead of using flowers, I adhered these cute little charms behind the star and have them hanging from it.

For the background, I stamped the Dainty Dolies - Large in gray. I used Colorbox chalk ink on it. I'm a little disappointed with the quality of the ink though. I have always loved Colorbox because I always get good results from it. Not with this color though. I'm not sure why. Can you recommend a good light gray ink for me please? I would really appreciate it.

The little Ocean tides images in the doilies are also from Very Vintage Christmas.

There you have it! I hope that gave you a little kick start of inspiration to join us this week in Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 117. Thanks for stopping by today. I'll see you again on Monday for the release I was telling you about. ;)

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 116

Hello! I'm here again! I have one final post before the week is over. It's Saturday, so Welcome to Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 116! I hope you had a chance to join us in the last challenge. If not, we have a new one this week!

This week's sketch was inspired by none other than the head mousetress! :)

WMSC116.jpg

Since I've done several Halloween cards already, I thought I would make a Christmas card instead this week. It was great to pull out my Christmas stamp sets as I have not used them in a while.

I used Festive Foliage and Seasonal Remedies for this one. Every year I tell myself that I would start making my Christmas cards early. But every year I never do and I always end up buying cards. A card maker buying cards for Christmas! lol.

Well, since I started this one, I might just make enough for this coming December. This is a pretty simple and clean card. I let the stamps speak for themselves. And I love this color combination! :)

Anyway, I hope you'll be inspired to dust off you Christmas stamp sets and start making your Christmas cards early! Start with this sketch challenge! I'll see you over at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! :)

Afterwards, I adhered a strip of polka dot patterned paper over it. Then I stamped these chevron strips from Good Times and hand cut them. I tied a ribbon around them and attached some felt leaves and a button.

For my main image and sentiment, I stamped this cute little chick from Fall Blessings. I stamped him onto a circle die cut and colored him in with Copic markers. Then I used a scallop circle as a mat underneath.

The Craft's Meow September 2012 Release Previews : Golden Days/Good Times

Hi there friends! A storm passed through NY yesterday and everyone was on tornado watch. Tornadoes in NY? I've only been here for 4 years but I've always thought that tornadoes only occur in the South and Midwest. Thankfully, our neighborhood was unaffected. I hope it wasn't so bad in other areas though.

Anyway, let's get down to business. Welcome back to Day 4 of The Craft's Meow September 2012 Release Previews. We have two new sets for you to preview today. Golden Days by Karen Baker and Good Times by Kaitlyn Ord

The Craft's Meow

For my first card I used Golden Days. This is a wonderful fall themed stamp set perfect for the coming season. I took one of the leaf images from the set and stamped an upper and lower border image on a piece of kraft cardstock. I punched he corners with a SU corner punch. Then I adhered a strip of striped brown patterned paper in the middle.

I die cut the banner pieces and letters from patterned paper and plain cardstock. For the smaller banner pieces, I stamped more images from Golden Days on it before adhering it to the larger banner pieces. Then I layered the letters over it.

I adhered the banner using foam tape. Then ran a piece of twine through the holes that I had punched earlier. I also stamped my sentiment under the strip of patterned paper. Lastly, I tied a gold ribbon around the top part of the card.

Onto my second card. For this one, I used Good Times. This is a wonderful set for people who not only make cards but scrapbook too! It's great for project life too! :)

I started my card with a strip of vintage cream cardstock. I stamped the chevron pattern on it and adhered it on the top of a patterned paper panel. Then I took out some of my left over scraps of patterned paper and stamped the banners on them. I hand cut them and  ran them through my sewing machine. I adhered them on the main panel side by side like so. :)

Then I die cut a doily, a circle and a scalloped circle and layered them one over the other.  I also stamped this label and a sentiment on it and attached it on top of my stack. I added the die cut felt leaves and mini wooden clips on the side.

I adhered everything over a kraft card base.

I'm looking at the clock and it's 1:00am now. I am officially tired. :) The black tea doesn't seem to be working anymore so I'm going to finalize things here.

Every month TCM offers up a stamp set as a gift for every $50 purchase over at the TCM store. This month's gift is Golden Days.

Do you want a chance to win these sets? Easy! Just leave a comment on the TCM blog! Make sure you visit the other DT members' blogs. They have more inspiration for you! Come back tomorrow for the blog hop ok? You'll have the chance to WIN the ENTIRE September collection then! :) See you soon!

The Craft's Meow September 2012 Release Sneak Previews - Day 3

Hello! Hello! Welcome back! It's Day 3 of The Craft's Meow September 2012 Release Sneak Previews. Today we're introducing two new sets. Fall Blessings and Fall with Fibi and Lilly from designer Mabelle-R-O.

The Craft's Meow

Since we have two sets to introduce today, I'm going to go straight to my projects. Here we go. Let's start with Fall with Fibi and Lilly.

I stamped a few images from the set and colored them with my Copic markers. Then I hand cut them. I'm planning on making cut files for them...once I get the chance to. lol. Lately I've been very busy and have had no time to do so. But since the lines were pretty simple on the images it wasn't so bad fussy cutting. :)

I adhered the images over a panel of cardstock that I had stamped with a giant cobweb. I also stamped my sentiment on it. I went back to stamp it again and unfortunately it didn't go as well as I had hoped. But it still looks good so I continued on with my card.

I made a little banner using the smaller images from the set. I stamped them, colored them in and hand cut them too. The I adhered them using foam tape then ran the twine through them. I think this is my favorite part of the card. You can make a banner of just about any image. Just line them up like this and run twine through them! :)

Onto my next card, Fall Blessings. Since my first card was colored very brightly, I decided to go a little light on this one.

I stamped my image as usual and colored it in. Then I fussy cut it. I die cut a tag and adhered it over a panel of patterned paper. I also die cut the little flap above and stamped my sentiment on it.

I continued coloring the grass from the main image down onto the tag to give it some continuity. I hope it looks ok. :)

Enjoying yourself I hope! :) Aren't my pictures getting better? I've been tinkering with Photoshop and have managed to make my pictures brighter and clearer. I love Photoshop! lol!

Do you want a chance to win these sets? All you have to do is to leave a message on the TCM Blog. That's it! So head on over there and leave some love. Don't forget to pass by the other TCM girls' blogs too!

I'll see you all again tomorrow!

Waltzingmouse Stamps September Blog Party

***My The Craft's Meow Release Preview post is just below. Please check it out!***

Hello again! I ALMOST forgot! It's WMS September Blog Party! I feel terrible that I'm not in it enough. So I wanted to make sure I was this time around. The theme for this month's party is fall! I love fall. I love all warm colors all around. Except the part where it gets messy. lol.

Blog-Party-Logo 70%25

Here's my little submission for this month's WMS Blog Party! I realized as I was going through my WMS drawers that I didn't have ANY fall stamp sets! I wasn't going to give up though. I just knew I wanted to use my Candy Jar and Jar Fillers for this card. So I pulled out some other fall stamp sets that I had and combined it with what Waltzingmouse Stamps I wanted to use.

I stamped my jar, and the topper. Then stamped the image I wanted to put into it. I colored it in with my Copic markers and viola! A fall jar! :) Seeing as I used other stamps from other stamp companies, I wanted to infuse more WMS into my card. So I grabbed my Chicken Wire stamp set and used it to make my background panel.

I added a border die cut that I cut with my Cameo above to add a little more color to my card. Then I attached my jar over some tags.

I usually scramble for ideas when it comes to fall cards. But surprisingly this came pretty easily to me this time around. I hope to be just as lucky next time. :)

Do you have any fall card ideas? Please share them with us over at Waltzingmouse Stamps!

The Craft's Meow - Lovely Ovals

I'm so excited today!!! The other night, my DH went online and bought me an advanced Christmas gift. I kept on showing it to him on you tube and he seems to like it too! I hear it's arriving tomorrow and I just can't WAIT!!!! I'll take a picture of it when I get it and show you. :) In the mean time, I'm counting the hours! Teehee!

I just had to share that because I'm so excited! lol! But let's get down to business now. Welcome back to The Craft's Meow September Release Previews! Did you enjoy yesterday's cards from the design team? I absolutely love releases. And I always can't wait until the very end when they finally show the stamp sets in their entirety. Then I grab a pen and a piece of paper and jot down my wish list. Are you the same?! :)

Well, here's another "tease" until you can see the whole release! Today, we're introducing Lovely Ovals designed by Elizabeta Kushner. This set is filled with intricately detailed pieces. If you love to make beautiful feminine cards you will definitely love this set.

For my card, I stamped and die cut this beautiful round frame. I inked the edges then stamped the sentiment in the middle. I die cut a scalloped oval to mat the oval frame I made. I stamped the scallop border several times to make my background panel. I don't know if you can see it, but I spread some adhesive over it then dusted it with some glitter.

I adhered a die cut label over the background panel. Then I tied a ribbon around it and added the flower. Then I layered my oval frame over it. I added the heart border on the bottom for some contrast.

I hope you're having fun with the release previews. There's more on the way. If you want a chance to win this set, all you have to do is head on over to the TCM blog and leave Lisa a message! Easy peasy! :) Please come back tomorrow, we have two sets that we're introducing, and I'm pretty sure you'll love them too! :)

The Craft's Meow September 2012 Release Sneak Previews

Hi there! If you've been waiting for The Craft's Meow new release, then you don't have to wait anymore! We are finally back on track! Welcome to The Craft's Meow September 2012 Release Sneak Previews!!!

Today, we're introducing a new set from Nina Brackett called Vintage Clocks. It has several images you're surely going to love. As well as delightful sentiments you can use anywhere. Here's my card for today's sneak preview.

I wanted to combine bright and vintage colors together in this little birthday card that I made. I zigzag stitched the polka dot patterned paper onto a piece of kraft cardstock. Then I stamped the images, hand cut them, and adhered them over a label die cut. I used Vintage Clocks and I've Got Your Number.

I stamped the sentiments above and below the green patterned paper piece. Then I tied a lace ribbon around the kraft panel to soften the look of the card.

As a final touch, I die cut and assembled a flower die cut and adhered it over the lace ribbon.

Have you seen the sale over at The Craft's Meow Store? Some of the older sets are retiring so they're going to be on sale. Only until supplies last though. So head on over to the store before the sale ends.

Please make sure to stop by the other TCM design team members to see what they have in store for you. I'll be back tomorrow with more! Thanks for stopping by today!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 115

Hi there! It's been a tiring week. I'm so glad it's finally the weekend. I've been busy helping a friend plan for a baby shower so I haven't had a lot of time to make cards to post here. I'm done for most part, I just need to print and cut the gift tags for the give-aways. I'm so glad for my Silhouette, otherwise I would probably be punching out the tags...all 50 of them one by one!

I'm not leaving you completely empty handed of course! It's Saturday, so it's time for Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 115. I'm still into the Halloween fever...so I made another Halloween card for this week. Here's the inspiration sketch that you'll all have to work with.

Here's what I came up with. I had a little trouble deciding what to do with the little squares in the window. The ny DH said to make them into "windows" and so I did...

I stamped the witch image and cut it into four panels and placed them like they were "windows".

I stamped my background panel with stars and the gate from Hocus Pocus. Then I ran it through my Cuttlebug to give it the nice wood grain look.

I then die cut a piece of vellum label and stamped my sentiment on it.

Please join us for a little inky fun over at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. I'll see you all there!
