Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 46 - A Tribute to My Mom

Hi bloggies! I'm back AGAIN! This is my second post for this morning, so please check out my Polkadot Door Blog Hop post by scrolling down. :)

It's Saturday, and I have work today!!! :( Not too happy about it, but what can you do? I'm leaving you all with two posts for today though! So that's good right? Before I get on to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 46, I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful comments you've left on my blog. I don't usually get to thank everyone individually or reply back. It's just that I have a day job and when I get home, most of the time, I still have some work left to be done. So whatever free time I have, I try to make at least a card a night and do my DT posts for that day. But I want you all to know that your wonderful and encouraging words mean a lot to me. And I always look forward to reading them in the morning. :)

Ok enough of the drama! (lol) and back to the challenge! Here's this week's sketch for Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 46.

Isn't this super cute?! And of course, as always, open to your interpretation. I was hoping to get my new stamps in to use for this sketch. Unfortunately, they haven't arrived yet, and so I had to improvise. :) I used Roses in Bloom for my card. It's almost Mother's Day here...well back home (in the Philippines) it's already Mother's Day. I made this for my mom. My sweet, soft spoken, strong, hard working, beautiful mom. I miss her every day that I'm away and look forward to seeing her in December.

The sentiment was so perfect. I am very very grateful to be raised by my mom. She came from a family that didn't have a lot of means. She worked so hard to graduate from college, and right off graduation she started her small business of furniture-making, with 1 carpenter and 1 wood-work machine (in their garage). After a few years she managed to make that business grow, and she moved her entire family to a better home and a better place. She even helped to send her sisters and brothers to school (there are 6 in all). Ever since I can remember, my mom has been working and working, and up until now, she's still working. She's the kind of person who would give even though she didn't have much even for herself. She even donates to charity to send kids to school. My mom has been working all her life and I don't think I've ever heard her complain. She has a kind heart and a strong soul. She has always been a fighter. And she will always be my hero. I LOVE YOU MOM! :)

Isn't my mom beautiful? :) I hope you like my card for this challenge. And I want to see all of you over at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! :)
