The Craft's Meow July 2012 Release Previews - Day 1

Hello blog friends! Welcome to the first day of The Craft's Meow July 2012 Release Previews! It's going to be an exciting week so hang on to your seats! Let's get started!

The Craft's Meow

Today we're introducing Ladies & Gents and Hope Blooms. Ladies & Gents is from our very talented Elizabeta Kushner. It is filled with detailed images that you will absolutely love. I recently got my Distress Markers and was delighted to try it out with Ladies & Gents.

For my first card, I stamped the two parasol images onto vintage cream cardstock. Then I colored them in with Distress Markers. I cut the main part of the parasol and adhered it onto my card with foam tape.

I cut out a strip of vintage cream cardstock for my sentiment. I stamped my sentiment on the right hand side. Afterwards, it looked like it was missing something. So I grabbed this leaf image from another set in the release (we'll get to that another day ;)) and stamped it repeatedly above and below the edges of the panel.

I wanted to make a really feminine card with the lovely parasols, so I added some bling. This gorgeous rhinestone flourish sticker is from Want2Scrap

I was absolutely delighted in Ladies & Gents so I made another card using my favorite image from the set. I also couldn't get this color combination out of my head so I made a different variation of it. For my second card, I combined Ladies & Gents with Beautiful Spring.

I stamped the butterfly images from Beautiful Spring on the background panel of my card. I also stamped in one of the parasol images from Ladies & Gents.

Then I stamped my favorite parasol image onto vintage cream cardstock and colored it in. I hand cut it and adhered it with foam tape. I also die cut some banners from some patterned papers and adhered them side by side.

To finish it off, I added a die cut label where I stamped my sentiment. I also stamped another butterfly image beside it for some color. Then I added ribbon and flowers to balance things out.

My third card is for Hope Blooms by Karen Baker. Let me tell you, these floral images are soooo delicate. I wanted to show them off in a different way and decided to make a background patterned paper with it.

I stamped the images randomly around a panel of vintage cream cardstock. Then I stamped some of the sentiments as well to balance out the floral images. I added a lot of lace and a die cut flap and doily as well.

For my main image, I stamped a flower image on some patterned paper and colored it in with Distress Markers. I cut it out and matted it with a floral burlap die cut. Then I adhered it onto the doily that I had die cut previously.

I stamped my sentiment on the bottom of the card over the rest of the images. I chose the biggest and boldest sentiment so that it would stand out from the floral background.

Well, that's all I have for you today. I'll be back again tomorrow for Day 2 of the TCM release. I hope you had fun and got some inspiration from my cards today. Please make sure to check out the other TCM ladies for more inspiration. Thanks for stopping by today!
