Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 45

Hi all! It's my second post for the night, so if you haven't seen the previous one just scroll down to see it! Sunday nights are always Curtain Call nights...unless the colors are too challenging and I chicken out...hee! This one was a little challenging for me, but I tried anyway. I'm not very good with purple. But there's been a technique that I've been wanting to try for quite some time now. I keep seeing these Tim Holtz alcohol ink applicators. Finally, yesterday, I picked one up to try it out. I thought that the technique would look so great in purple! Well, I don't have any alcohol inks. Instead, I used my Blackberry chalk ink from Color Box. It worked fine as well. I brushed the sand colored cardstock on one side in circular motions to blend in the ink well. When one side was done, I used my lime green chalk ink to stamp some leaves on the other side.

While at my local craft store yesterday, I saw some vellum paper. I don't normally work with vellum, but I picked some out anyway. I decided it would look great with some butterflies stamped on it. So I added the cute little butterflies from Butterfly Dreams (PTI). When I was done with the ribbon and all of the other things I wanted to add to the card, I had no idea where to put the sentiment! In the end, I just stamped it on a strip of vellum and adhered it to the bottom of the card.

The paper flowers and leaves were from a ribbon store I found in one of my travels. I can't remember the name of the store, so sorry I can't really say where I got them from. I have seen great paper flowers at Michael's though. The ribbon was just excess from a gift I received from Bed, Bath & Beyond! Hee! Now that's recycling for you!

Here's the color combination for Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 45. And here's my sketch. Thanks for stopping by!

Cardstock - vintage cream (PTI), sand (Bazzill)
