Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 32

Hi everyone! Happy Memorial Day weekend! It's time for the Curtain Call Challenge once again. I didn't join last week because I was frightened by the color combination haha. I didn't have it in me to use purple. I don't know I just don't like purple. They don't call them color challenges for nothing! Even this week's color challenge was a little hard on me. But when I got started I just couldn't stop! I don't know if you're allowed more than one submission. But I made 3 cards before I finally stopped working with the colors. Here they are...I hope you like them! Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Coordinating Birthday Cards

Hi everyone! TGIF!!! I've been working on coordinating cards for the birthday tags I made for the Papertrey Blog Hop. I was so into American Idol the other night that I had started making the coordinating cards but never got to finish them until now. I really really loved the pink polka dots on those tags and thought I'd continue them here on the cards as well. I also got...for the very first time Spellbinder's Nestabilities Dies!!! Yay! They were on sale for $19.99 at AC Moore last weekend! I tried to do some stenciling as well...it wasn't as neat as I had hoped it would. As with everything...practice, practice, practice!  I hope you like them! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock - vintage cream, raspberry fizz (PTI), brown/gray (DCWV)
Stamps - polkadot basics 2 (PTI), sentiment (SU)

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge

I have never scrambled to make anything so fast before!!!  I only found out that there was a blog hop (and realized what a blog hop was heehee!) 30 minutes before the deadline for submissions!!! Haha! Here's my submission! Enjoy!

When in doubt...

Hi all! I made this card yesterday and forgot to post it. I was totally stumped yesterday and had no new ideas for cards. And I read in one of the blogs that I follow that it's a nice idea to take a card idea from a favorite designer and make it your own. Well, the card design I chose was from Kristina Werner. I love her designs. I love their simplicity and clean lines. Here's her card...

Isn't it great?! It's simple and yet it caught my eye as soon as I saw it...and has kept my mind with it ever since...I have always wanted to make my version of this card...here is my version of Kristin Werner's card...

Embellish Magazine: Color Challenge with Butterflies 2

I focused on black and kraft this time around. And because the inspirational pictures were of a wedding...well, I guess it just stuck...here it is. Enjoy!

Card Patterns Sketch 65

Hi everyone! Sunday's almost over again...back to work. But before that, Card Patterns has a new sketch! At first I was totally clueless as to how I was going to proceed. But as soon as I found the patterned paper I wanted to use...well everything just fell into place. I love this SEI patterned paper so much! I love the colors and the patterns on it. I often find that when I'm not sure of what I want to do...I just have to look for patterned paper that inspires me. And this one definitely inspires. :)

I bought...for the very first time...Spellbinders dies! Yay! I've been seeing them everywhere and they're on sale for $19.99 at AC Moore. Downside to this...my Cuttlebug C plate just broke!!! You can't imagine how long it took to find a combination of cardstock, fun foam and chipboard just to cut this thing!!! I have looked at every Michael's and AC Moore in our area for it...nothing. Amazon is out of stock. Papertrey Ink is out of stock. Goodness!

Ooh Shrek 3D was in theaters today! Did anyone see it? I just LOVE Puss hehe, those eyes!!!!  He would probably have me at the palm of his paws with those eyes heee! Anyway, onto the card challenge. Enjoy! And thank you for passing by!

Supplies:
Cardstock - Vintage Cream, Craft (PTI), green (SEI, DCWV)
Patterned Paper - SEI

Beautiful Butterflies

Hi all! Happy Tuesday! I just got my Stampin' Up package in the mail today! Yay! :) One of the things that I've been wanting to add to my growing craft supplies was the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Dies from Stampin' Up. I would see it sooo many times in different blogs and magazines. I've just been so busy trying to slowly check off my wish list for Papertrey Ink Stamp Sets that I never got the chance to order this. Well, it came with some other stamp sets from Stampin' Up and I couldn't be happier! Here's the card I made using it. Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!

I also made an envelope to go with this card. I used my Martha Stewart Score Board to make this. I just LOVE my score board!!! It's great that it has grooves with 1/8" increments so you can do more things with it. It's also waaay cheaper than the Scor-pal.

Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 30

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Have you watched Kristina Werner's Make a Card Monday today? I just love watching her videos. I find that she's the most entertaining card designer when it comes to card tutorial videos. She's always so vibrant and happy, and yet not in that annoying perky way. (haha does that make sense?)  She's never boring and she gives out sooo much information. I think that maybe 1/2 of the supplies and tools I have, I bought after watching her videos. Anyway, I don't always try to do what she does in the video but it always inspires me to make a card.  I wish more blogs/websites would put out card making videos.

I remembered going through Stacey's blog and seeing that wonderful wonderful color challenge! I just LOVE the color combination for this color challenge. I had some left over scraps from my last Curtain Call Challenge and I didn't want to waste it.  After looking at the flourishes all over the patterned paper I knew I had to make it the theme of the card.  Here's my submission for Act 30. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Color Cue Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone!!! I haven't posted anything in a few days and so I thought I would join one of the challenges today. Here's the color challenge from W Plus 9 Design Studio. I love the colors! :) It reminded me of the beach and of a baby boy. And since my stamp set collecting has only begun, I only had the baby card option today :) Oooh by the way, PTI has just launched their new line. I loooove the fillable frames and the hot air balloons! Anyway, on to the challenge!

My navy blue cardstock wasn't as navy as I wanted it, but it was all I had and I made do with it. I hope you all like it!!! Oh, I used the Bow Easy for this ribbon. I love it! So easy to use! Thanks for the tip Debbie! And thank you Stamp TV for the video on how to use it!

More on Violets

Hi everyone! I was planning on making an Embellish Magazine challenge tonight but I found myself just sitting stumped haha :) So I went through my favorite blogs for some inspiration. Instead I found Maile Belle's website with a card with olive green polka dots! I love polka dots on my cards! And so I instantly started making one with polka dots on it. When I had the finished matting, I stopped and stared at it for awhile and after a few seconds knew that I really really wanted to use my absolute favorite stamp set. Violets!

My husband asked me why I kept on using it over and over. I told him I didn't have that many stamp sets since I just started collecting them....but that he could contribute to my collection any time!!! Heee!  I hope you ladies aren't tired of seeing this favorite stamp set of mine! I just love it to pieces! Here it is, enjoy!

Supplies:
Cardstock - Kraft, Vintage Cream (PTI), Olive Green (The Paper Company)
Stamp Set - Year of Flowers: Violets (PTI)
Ink - Olive Green (Colorbox)

Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 29

Hi everyone! I found a new website offering color challenges thanks to all of you. I go through blogs I follow almost everyday (even when I don't leave a comment...not very good with words...) and I also try to look at the blogs that everyone loves to follow. I've been looking for blogs/websites with challenges lately. It seems to be better making a card with a specific target in mind rather than just going at it. At least that's what I think. This color challenge is beautiful! I LOVE the colors sooo much! And I love the way these color challenges have beautiful pictures for inspiration as well.

Because the colors are so elegant, I wanted to use them with my favorite flower stamp set. PTI's Year of Flowers: Violets. I know, I know...they're violets but I colored them orange and yellow haha. That's what I love about the stamp set. They can be any color I want them to be :) I wish you could all see the vibrant orange of the ribbon though. My camera is only a point and shoot camera and sometimes it makes things darker than what they really are. Still, I love this card. Enjoy!

Supplies:
Cardstock - blue (DCWV), others (PTI)
Stamps - Year of Flowers - Violets (PTI)
Ink - Stayz On
Others - ribbon (Wendy), Rhinestones (Good Morning), Edge Punch (Fiskars), colored pencils (Prisma)

Embellish Magazine Color Challenge with Dimension

Hi! Wow Saturday just flew by! If you read my last blog, I was not too happy about the previous card I made for this challenge. And so I thought I'd try again today. I was sitting so long on my craft table just staring at the coordinating colored cardstock for this challenge. It was really frustrating. In the end, I thought I'd try something new but still me...atleast I think this is new to me ;) I'm not much for using flowers unless they're stamped on. But I see so many beautiful cards with them...so I started with small flowers :) I used dimensions to raise the circle for my focal point. Anyway, here's my submission for the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge! Enjoy!

Supplies:
Cardstock - Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides (PTI), Terracotta (SEI)
Patterned Paper - SEI
Ink - Pigment Ink (Colorbox), Versamark
Others - Ribbon (Wendy), Corner Puncher (EK Success), Circle Punch (Fiskars)
