Just a little something...

Hi bloggers! I have a little card for you today. It seems to have been a while since I used any of my WPlus9 stamps and I missed using them. There have been too many DT projects lately that I missed out using my other stamp sets.

I'm making up for it today, so I have a WPlus9 infused card for you. I wanted to make a whimsical card instead of my usual frilly ones. So I grabbed my Le Cirque stamp sets and dies and went to work.

I die cut the elephants and stamped them in different colors. Then I stamped the ticket and hand cut it and used a small punch for the little notches.

The radiating stars are from Super Star. I stamped them then hand cut them. It was pretty easy to do. Then I layered them in different heights using foam tape.

I've been enjoying my A Cut Above classes. I've learned so much about the Silhouette Cameo and I WANT one now! If you're interested in die cutting, this is a good class to attend. You can still join in now and follow at your own pace.

Enjoy your week! I'll see you soon! Thanks for visiting today. :)

Let's Play

Hi friends! It's finally the weekend. It seems like it took so long to get here. I just ordered some new crafty supplies and I'm excitedly waiting for them to arrive. As you know my mojo has been running on low for a few days now. The trip to AC Moore helped, but now it's time for my monthly one time - big time order to arrive. Do you do that too? I like to order my stuff from one place if I can help it...hence the one time-big time order.

While I'm waiting...I had enough mojo to make a new card. This one is for Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 95. It's from our talented friend Karin and it's perfect for what I love to do the most...layering! Here's Karin's sketch for this week.

Here's my project for this week. I was looking at the sketch and had an idea for the top portion of the card. Instead of having an entire strip of a different patterned paper over the main panel, I heat embossed this...

It's actually one corner of an image from Florentine Frippery. It's my favorite set from the last release. I inked a corner of the image and stamped it repeatedly to make it look like a "banner" on the top portion of my main panel.

I die cut a tag and adhered a strip of My Mind's Eye patterned paper on it and stamped a border on top and bottom of the patterned paper strip. Then I inked the edges and tied some light blue twine through it.

I also stamped and hand cut this label from Florentine Frippery and added my sentiment from Fancy Phrases.

For my embellishments, I stamped this cameo from Cameo to Go and hand cut it as well. Then I added some fabric flowers and tucked them under the label. I topped them off with this glittered star. I also thought that since the right side was a little full of embellishments, the left side looked unbalanced. So added the little gems from Bazzill to even things out.

I hope you've enjoyed my card for this week. I would love to see your take on our sketch this week. Please come and play with the Mischief Makers over at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. See you there!

After hours on my craft table...

Hello. After days of previews and design team challenges, I finally had some time to play. I saw the color combination in The Play Date Cafe and I had to join. My mojo wasn't up for it though. I was sitting at my craft table for hours wasting paper, ink and a whole lot of other things. Finally, I gave up and left...and went to our local AC Moore! They had a whole bunch of My Mind's Eye 6 x 6 patterned paper pads for $3.99 and they were all 40% off! I felt like a kid in a candy store! The patterned papers are so pretty, it was all the inspiration I needed.

Here's the inspirational photo from The Play Date Cafe 128.

Here's what an hour in AC Moore and a whole lot of My Mind's Eye patterned paper pads produced.

I missed using my Papertrey Ink supplies so I wanted to fill this card with as much Papertrey Ink goodness as possible. I used Rosie Posie, Simply Jane and Sweet Love stamp sets.

I die cut the flowers and the frame and stamped the images on them. Then I just layered them over one another in different levels. The patterned papers I used on this card were from my new My Mind's Eye 6 x 6 patterned paper pads.

That's all I have for today. I have my eye on some other challenges. Hopefully I have enough time to join them! Thanks for visiting today! I'll see you all soon!

The Craft's Meow April 2012 Blog Hop

***This is my second post for the day. Please scroll down for Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.***

Hello! You made it to The Craft's Meow April 2012 Blog Hop! Welcome! Welcome! The design team and guest designers have a lot of wonderful cards and projects for you today. So let's have some fun.

The Craft's Meow

Blogger has been causing problems for some of our designers all week long so you may come across a few of our designer's blogs that do not appear updated with today's blog hop post. If that happens, please refer to the hop order at the end of my post or on The Craft's Meow Store Blog to continue on, but make sure you plan to check back on the other blogs because you'll need to leave a comment on each blog in order to win our BIG PRIZE!

If you just came from Jackie Rockwell's blog then you're right where you're supposed to be. If not you can head on over to the TCM blog to start there. Now remember, it's important because in order to win the ENTIRE April release sets you have to leave a comment on each designer's blog as well as the TCM blog.

Let's get to my project for the hop. My favorite set for this release is Vintage Rides. I know it's not my usual thing, but the images are just soooo cute!!! Nina did such a great job. I had so much fun using it, I think I'll be using it a lot more in the future!

I stamped this little scooter right on my card kraft card base and colored it with my Copic markers. Then I stamped the balloons as well. I cut a strip of patterned paper  and adhered it to the top portion of the card. I also die cut this strip of stars and sewed it over the patterned paper.

I stamped the balloons on some patterned papers as well and hand cut them. Then I adhered them over the first balloon image that I stamped. One is directly on the kraft card stock and the other raised with foam tape.

I die cut the circle and the mat and stamped my sentiment on it. These are from Giddy Up, also by Nina. When I was done with my card I noticed that it seemed to lack something. So I took my Travel Time and stamped the sentiments several times on the kraft card stock.

That's all I have for you today. Just a few reminders...make sure to leave comments on ALL the DT and guest designers blogs to have a chance at the GRAND PRIZE. Also, you can have Giddy Up as a gift with a minimum purchase of $50

Before I go, here's the blog hop list.

Thanks for visiting today. I'll see you again soon! :) Happy shopping!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 94

Hi friends! Have you been to the Waltzingmouse Blog lately? Claire has a lot going on in her life right now, specially with her mom. You can read about it here. If you can, please visit her blog and leave her some love. She needs all the support she can get, specially from her wonderful blog friends. I know how great this community is first hand when my mom was sick. Let's keep her and her entire family in our prayers.

Let's get on with the challenge shall we? Welcome back to Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 94
We have another sketch from Karin this week. I'm really enjoying them. I haven't tried making any of my own. Hopefully I can get into it and contribute some of my own.

Here's how I used Karin's sketch this week. I followed it for most part, except for the background panel. I actually cut 3 strips of My Mind's Eye patterned papers and sewed them together to make the pattern. I love this color combination. I keep going back to it a lot.

For the central strip panel, I stamped my favorite image from Heirloom Patterns and inked it with distress ink. Then I wrapped some twine around it 3 times. It was a little hard to do since this twine is a bit tough and unyielding. I managed to keep it in place though with some strips of tape in the back. I mounted it using some foam tape.

I die cut a circle piece and a doily piece for the main image. Then I stamped this ornate image from Paris Nouveau with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with some silver embossing powder. I stamped my sentiment from Fancy Phrases in the center and mounted the circle to the doily die cut with foam tape. Then I adhered them on the central strip with more foam tape.

What do you think of my card? I had a lot of fun making it. It seems my cards have been jumping from style to another these days. I hope I can pin it down to my favorite though. :) I've just been adapting to sketches and inspirational pictures lately.

I hope you enjoyed that. The other Mischief Makers have more in store for you, so make sure to stop by their blogs. Leave them a little note, it's nice to receive them. I know because they really make my day. Thanks for stopping by today! I'll see you over at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog! :)

The Craft's Meow April 2012 Release Preview: Day 4

Hello there! Welcome back to the final day of The Craft's Meow April Previews. Not to worry though, it may be the last day for previews, but we have our blog hop tomorrow. So more inspiration for everyone! :)

Today we're featuring Giddy Up by Nina B Designs. It's actually going to be a gift set for those who buy any TCM product over $50. So yay! :) Like all Nina B Designs stamp sets, this set is gorgeous! Wonderfully intricate and with a lot of matching sentiments.

I came across this color combination while I was perusing my favorite blogs. It feels like my mojo has been down for weeks now. So when I feel that way, I just look at other people's beautiful work and afterwards, I feel so much better and want to get inky! :)

For my card, I used an Ocean Tides card base and zigzag stitched a Die Cuts with a View patterned paper over it. Then I stamped my pretty horse on some Vintage Cream card stock and hand cut it. Sorry about the ink on the horse. My brown ink was down to it's final breath and my refills hadn't arrived yet. I had to squeeze the last bits of ink to make this.

After I finished inking the edges of the horse I though that my patterned paper needed a little bit of something. So I heat embossed this beautiful doily from Simply Delightful.

I added this strip of crocheted lace that I got from a store in Etsy. I can't remember what the store's name is because it's been closed for some time now. But I usually buy several yards of lace specially if I really like it.

For my sentiment, I die cut this circle piece and stamped this beautiful frame for it. Then I stamped the sentiment inside. Again, trying to squeeze out all of the brown from my ink pad. I'm glad to report that my refills came this week and my Chocolate Chip ink is back in business! :)

I framed my circle sentiment piece with a doily die cut from Papertrey ink. I think this might be my favorite doily die cut so far. :)

I hope you've enjoyed today's Giddy Up inspired card. Be sure to visit each of the girls on the TCM team for more Giddy Up inspired cards and creations.

I'll see you all again tomorrow for the big blog hop! Oooh I almost forgot! Head on over to The Craft's Meow Store Blog, Lisa is giving out a Giddy Up stamp set to one lucky winner! All you have to do is leave a comment! Thanks for stopping by today! See you tomorrow. :)

The Craft's Meow April 2012 Release Preview: Day 3

***This is my second post for the day, please scroll down for CASE Study Challenge.***

Hello again! And welcome back to The Craft's Meow April 2012 Release Previews Day 3. We are almost to the end of our previews and soon you'll be able to see the full reveal. Yay! Today we're introducing Vintage Rides from Nina Brackett and Owl Journaling from Jenny Suchin

Let's start with Vintage Rides from Nina Brackett. Here's my first project for today. Let me just say that this set is sooo fun! And if you're into coloring, then you will really enjoy this set! It has a lot of images in it as well as cute sentiments. I couldn't decide which one to use on my card because they were ALL so cute! In the end, I went with this plane image which I colored with my Copic markers.

I layered the plane over a PTI label and pinking circle. Then I adhered the banner with my sentiment at the end of the plane.

I also outlined the plane with a gray Copic marker because I didn't want the whites to be seen around the image. It seemed to blend better with the gray. This would be really great for a boy party! Or a baby shower! I wish I was good at making 3D projects. This set would be absolutely perfect for it! Hmm...maybe I will try to make something... :) Will keep you posted on that one! :)

Next up is Owl Journaling by Jenny Suchin. For those of you who love to scrapbook and journal, this set is for you. It's as cute as a button! I don't scrapbook anymore, so I made a card with it instead.

I stamped the banner image several times on patterned paper and hand cut them. I placed them on the top part of the card to make a banner, then I placed a die cut strip of felt stars over the banners.

I stamped an owl image onto vintage cream cardstock and also on patterned paper. I put some glitter on the wings then layered the patterned paper owl over it. I stamped it one more time and cut out the eyes and beak and layered it over the patterned paper.

That's it for me. If you're done here, please make sure you stop by the TCM girls' and leave them some love. Lisa has stuff to give away at The Craft's Meow Store Blog, so make sure to hop on over there! I'll see you again tomorrow for more previews.

The Craft's Meow April 2012 Release Previews - Day 2

Hello again! Welcome back! It's time for Day 2 of The Craft's Meow April 2012 Release Previews. Today the team is featuring Inspired by Audrey from Karen Baker.

This set has a lot of beautiful sentiments and intricate images that I think you'll love. The sentiments are a combination of script and type. I love that. Here's my project for today.

I stamped Heirloom Patterns to make a background for my main label. I don't know why, but it just made me think of Audrey. I stamped the main label image from Inspired by Audrey, and hand cut it. Then I punched some butterflies and adhered them onto the label with glue dots. Pearls also seemed very Audrey...so I added several of them.

I stamped this sentiment under the lace and border that I punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch. Then I thought, something was missing. So I made another border below it by stamping this image repeatedly along the bottom. I added more pearls in the center to balance things out.

That's all for me today. The other TCM girls have more inspiration for you, so head on over to their blogs and leave some love. I'll be back again tomorrow for more previews. Thanks for visiting today! See you again tomorrow! :)

The Craft's Meow April 2012 Release Previews - Day 1

Hello! It's our favorite time of the month over at The Craft's Meow. Today is Day 1 of The Craft's Meow April 2012 Release Previews. I'm sure the sneak peeks were titillating, but there's nothing like seeing the stamps put to actual use! And we're going to be doing that for the next few days. So hang on to your seats, let's get started with our previews!

Today we're introducing Nature's Beauty from Michelle Bertuzzi and Travel Time from Kaitlyn Ord. We also have guest designers joining us this April, please help us welcome Gini Cagle and Geri Freeman

First up is my Travel Time card. I leaned towards a more masculine card for this stamp set. I die cut a label and stamped my plane image on it. Then I also added a sentiment and postal signs to add some color to the design.

I inked the edges of the label since it was blending in with the background panel. Don't you just love the vintage, distressed look of the sentiment?

For the background panel, I stamped this chevron image from a different stamp set that's also coming out this month. We'll get to that later on this week. After I stamped it and inked the edges, I ran it through my Cuttlebug and dry embossed it. The bottom felt empty to me, so I stamped another sentiment on it.

For me second card, I used Nature's Beauty by Michelle Bertuzzi. I also used a sketch image from Mojo Monday 235, although I never got to submit it. lol. But here's the sketch.

I layered on some My Mind's Eye patterned papers for my background panel. Then I stamped an image from the set and heat embossed it. Once it dried, I ran a distress ink blending tool over it to give it some color. The image popped out as soon as I added the ink. I kept the colors soft and feminine for this card.

For my sentiment, I die cut this circle and layered it with a coordinating scalloped circle. I stamped another image from the set on it and added the sentiment. I also inked the edges with some distress ink.

I zigzag stitched the main image panel over the background patterned papers. I also added a strip of lace I got from M&J Trimming on the bottom.

That's all I have for today. I'll see you again tomorrow for more previews. In the meantime, please head on over to the other TCM DT girls and our guest designers, they have more to show you. Make sure to leave them some love! Thanks for visiting today! :)
