Waltzingmouse Stamps DT Blog Waltz

Hey there! You made it to the last day of the Waltzingmouse Stamps May 2013 Release! Welcome to the DT Blog Waltz!!! If you just came from Jen's blog then you're in the right place. If you're lost you can head on over to Waltzingmouse Stamps blog to check out the complete list of the DT Blog Waltz. Let's get started!

For my first card, I used USA 1776 to make a July 4th card. I made a big frame for my background card panel using a small frame from the set. I used masking to do this. Then I sprinkled more stars throughout the upper portion of the panel.

I made some banners using the star builder images from the same set. Then I attached some twine over it. I also stamped and hand cut the eagle and adhered it over the banners.

For my second card, I made another July 4th card. Only this time, I wanted to make something that didn't have the traditional colors. This would probably be great to give to a teenage lady. :)

I just stamped the firecracker image several times. Some straight onto the cardstock and the rest I hand cut and attached with foam tape.

That's it for me! I hope you enjoyed these past few days! I loved working with these stamp sets. If you're all done here you can head on over to Karin's blog. Make sure to leave comments as you go. Claire is giving away a stamp set of choice to a lucky random winner! Thanks for stopping by today! :)

Waltzingmouse Stamps May 2013 Release Previews - Day 3

Hello! Hello! It's Day 3 of the Waltzingmouse Stamps May 2013 Release Previews. Did you find the last two days inspiring? I hope so! For Day 3, we're making projects combining Country Labels No. 4 and USA 1776.

When I sat down to make these cards, I automatically thought...masculine cards. It seemed appropriate and it's practice for me! :)

I used the US flag as inspiration for this card. I cut strips of red cardstock and adhered it to my base panel. Then I stamped and die cut the round label from Country Labels No. 4 in navy. I was about to adhere the star I die cut when I thought the middle looked very empty. So I stamped a circle in red at the center to balance things out. I was just hoping that it didn't look like Captain America's shield! lol! :)

I used the sentiment from USA 1776 and heat embossed it in silver on the bottom of the label. Then I attached everything to a kraft card base.

My second card is also pretty simple. I stamped Text It to make the background panel of my card. Then I adhered a strip of patterned paper over it. I tied some twine around it and adhered the die cut label over it. I also stamped the eagle and hand cut it. Then I attached it with some foam tape over the label.

I kept things very simple. I hope these provided you with a wee bit of inspiration for masculine cards! I know how hard those are to make. It's good to get a little bit of practice here and there. :)

Thank you for stopping by today. I'll be back again tomorrow for the DT Blog Hop. If you're all done here, please head on over to the other DT girls' blogs to leave them some love! See you again tomorrow! :)

Waltzingmouse Stamps May 2013 Release Previews - Day 2

Heya! Welcome back! It's Day 2 of the Waltzingmouse Stamps May 2013 Release Previews! It's also Memorial Day today here in the US. So today's previews are very appropriate for the holiday. The stamp set is geared towards anything American. I've been enjoying myself creating with it. So I'm showing you some of the projects I made with it. Here we go! Waltzingmouse Stamps presents...USA 1776.

For my first project, I made a card and a little 3D star. For the card, I stamped the fireworks "burst" on kraft cardstock. I also stamped USA and the little label over it. Then I dry embossed it with a wood grain embossing

I die cut some stars and stamped the stars and stripes on it. I adhered on straight onto the kraft cardstock and the other with some foam tape. I also made a 3D star out of two of the stamps. I'm thinking of using it for some banners on the 4th of July.

For my second card, I made something that I almost never make. I made a CAS card! Can you believe it?!?!?! It's a masculine card, so automatically I tend to veer towards CAS when making them. I'm just a little disappointed about my photography here though. I think it's a bit over exposed. But the gray is very rich and dark and the little flag really stands out when you see it.

I used scotch tape to cover half of the stamp to ink one portion then stamp it. Then I go back and do the same thing for the lower portion of the stamp. I heat embossed the sentiment in silver to help it pop out of the gray.

There you go! We have more coming up tomorrow. So please come back to see me! The other DT ladies have more projects for you. So please head on over there and leave them some love! Thank you for stopping by today! How am I doing so far? I would love to hear from you! :)

Waltzingmouse Stamps May 2013 Release Previews - Day 1

Hi there! Didn't I tell you the blog would be busy again these next few days? :)  Welcome to Waltzingmouse Stamps May Release Previews! It's Day 1 of the release, and today we're introducing Country Labels 4.

For my first card, I made a simple card using inking. I've been enjoying using this technique these past few weeks. I heat embossed the flowers from French Country in white. Then I used dye inks to color the base of the card. I love how the white pops against the yellow and aqua inks.

I stamped my favorite label from Country Labels 4  in black. Then I stamped it 4 more times in different colors. I hand cut each quarter then adhered it onto the black base to create this multi-colored label.

For my second card, I made a little country Thank You card. I used Chicken Wire for the background. Then Bitty Banners which I adhered over it with foam tape.

I used glue dots to place the twine underneath the banners. I also hand cut the little bird house in the middle. The stamped border in between is from My Kind of Guy.

Ok. That's it for today. Come back again tomorrow for more previews of the Waltzingmouse Stamps May 2013 Release. There's a lot more inspiration for you in the other DT ladies' blogs. So head on over there and leave them some love! I'll see you all again tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by! :)

WPlus9 April/May 2013 Release Feature - Day 3

Hello again! I hope you all enjoyed the past few days of WPlus9 features. I'm back to round things off with the last day of the April/May 2013 feature.

Today, we're featuring Fresh Baked, Fresh Baked DiesQuilt Prints, and Pretty Patches: Umbrella, Pretty Patches: Umbrella Die. For my first card, I used Quilt Prints to make a lovely pattern that I adhered to the center of the card panel. Then I die cut a piece of vintage cream cardstock with Label Layers 2. I adhered a strip of washi tape in the middle  and stamped my sentiments above and below it.

I used the Fresh Baked die and stamped the coordinating image for this adorable cooking pot. I adhered it onto the label with some foam adhesive.

For my last card, I used Quilt Prints and Pretty Patches: Umbrella. I wanted to have the umbrellas hanging so I grabbed my Heartfelt Mix and stamped some strings up. I also stamped and hand cut the Quilt Prints to make a border on the side of the card.

And that's a wrap! I hope you've enjoyed the cards I made for you these past few days. I certainly enjoy making them for you all. If you're still looking for more inspiration please head on over to the WPlus9 Design Studio. Thanks for stopping by today! :)

WPlus9 April/May 2013 Release Feature - Day 2

Hi there! I'm back with a few more cards for the WPlus9 April/May Release Feature. Today, I'm featuring the following stamp sets and dies...Blanket Stitched Blooms, Blanket Stitched Blooms Dies, and Strictly Sentiments 1.

For my first card, I stamped Blanket Stitched Blooms and made a wreath out of it. I also combined some images from Paisley Patterns. It's a very simple card that can be done easily specially if you're in a hurry.

My second card is more layered. I used the Blanket Stitched Blooms and heat embossed a background panel. Then I distressed the card panel with pink dye ink. I stamped and die cut the frame from Bitty Buddy Valentines and stamped my sentiment on it.

I used the Blanket Stitched Blooms Dies and stamped the coordinating images on them. I layered them on the upper left and lower right corners of the frame.

Finally, for my last card, I used the Blanket Stitched Blooms to make a background panel for my card. I stamped my sentiment from Strictly Sentiments 1 on a frame from Very Vintage Florals. I surrounded it with flowers I stamped and die cut from Blanket Stitched Blooms and Damask Delight.

Whew! That's all I have up my sleeve for today! I hope you enjoyed today's feature. Please come back tomorrow for the rest of my projects! Thanks for stopping by today! :)

WPlus9 April/May 2013 Release Feature - Day 1

Hey there! Just as promised! It's finally my turn to feature the WPlus9 April/May 2013 Release! I've been itching to get my hands on these goodies since Dawn first gave the DT a  sneak peek of them. I hope you were just as excited as I was when these babies were released.

Let's get to my first card. This set has to be my favorite for this release. I love any set where I can create my own combination of patterns. And this set is just that! I LOVE it! For my card, I created this lovely pattern combining the different images from Paisley Patterns and Damask Delight.

 Supplies:

I also made a coordinating gift tag for a little bag of candies that I put together. I was so happy with the pattern that I managed to create that I wanted to continue it on this tag that I die cut. And because I couldn't leave it flat...I adhered the die cut letters with some foam tape. It gives wonderful dimension to the tag! :)

I love this set so much that I couldn't help myself! I made another card! I used the same supplies. This time I changed up the color combination. I love yellow and gray together! It was a perfect combination for the images in this set.

I usually stamp out these patterns on scratch paper first. Once I'm happy with the colors and patterns that's when I stamp it onto my card. I usually end up stamping a LOT of color combinations and patterns. I'll probably be making more patterns using this set. So watch out for them! I would love to see what patterns you've made with them. Leave me a link to your project! I would love to see more!!! :)

That's all for today friends! I'll be back again tomorrow with a few more cards using the other April/May Release products. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Happy Mother's Day

Hi there! I have a card for a very special woman today. It's for my wonderful mom. A sister who worked hard to put her brothers and sisters through school. A daughter who worked hard to give her a family a better life. A mom who worked hard to make sure her daughters would not go through the hardships she did when she was younger. A mom who is always kind and soft spoken. MY MOM. My mom who loves God so very much. And whom God loves very much too because she would not have survived 2 aneurysms if not for Him. I'm grateful for every day that she's here with us. I miss her every day and wish that I wasn't half way across the world.

I LOVE YOU MOM!

I was at Barnes and Noble this morning and saw a beautiful card with lovely embossing. I wanted to try to make my own version of it. This is what I came up with...

For this card, I used Rosie Posie from Papertrey Ink. I stamped some of the flowers and shaded them with Copic markers. I also heat embossed the rest of the flowers in white. I wanted to use my blending tool to give a beautiful aqua shade to the card. The embossed white flowers stand out quite beautifully this way. The sentiment is from A Special Lady by WPlus9.

As I was making this post, I realized that my older sister Cathy is just like my mom. She has three rowdy boys who always keeps her on her toes. And she also works so hard to make sure that they have a good life and a good education. I'm very proud of her! :) Happy Mother's Day Ach! :)

Well, that's it for today! Thanks for stopping by! I wish all the mom's out there a Happy, Happy Mother's Day!
