Waltzingmouse Stamps July Release Blog Waltz

Hi there! Welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps July Release Blog Waltz! Did you just come from Jen's blog? If you did, you're right where you should be! If not, head on over to the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog and start at the beginning!

I made two sets for the Blog Waltz today, so grab a drink and let's go through them together! My first set is made with the Fine Feathers stamp set. It's my favorite one this in this release. I really enjoyed using it.

This was my inspiration for my first project.

I stamped four different feather images. Three onto cream cardstock, which I fussy cut. It is absolutely worth the effort of fussy cutting! I used HA Soft Pool, Fresh Peach, Cup O' Joe, Soft Sand and Soft Granite.

I have been seeing feathers used for gift packaging over at Pinterest and I wanted to make my own. This set is absolutely perfect for it!!!

Now onto my  next set. Like I said on Day 1 of the WMS July Release, I found out that there are Russian Doll themed parties. I thought they were absolutely adorable! So I made a little after party Thank You set using You're a Doll.

Here's a Thank You card for the set.

And here's a gift baggie. I made this gift bag myself using drawing paper from Ikea. You know those rolls of drawing paper for kids? They're perfect for making gift baggies that you want to decorate yourself! I did this for Christmas last year and people asked me where I bought them! I said I made them myself and they were startled because they thought that it was store bought! :)

Well, that's it for me! If you're all done here, you can head on over to Karin's blog for more inspiration. Don't forget to leave a comment on every blog you hop onto. Claire is picking out a random winner to win a stamp set of your choice! You have until July 2nd at 11:59 PM (GMT), 5:5 9AM Central (July 3), 3:59 AM Pacific and 6:59 AM Eastern to leave comments. Good luck! And thanks for stopping by today!

Waltzingmouse Stamps July Release Previews - Day 2

Welcome back! Did you enjoy yesterday's previews? Well, if you loved yesterday's projects, you are going to love today even more!!! It's my favorite stamp set for the July Release!!! WMS proudly presents...FINE FEATHERS and CRACKLE BACKGROUND.

I have been wishing for a feather stamp set for awhile now. I was so happy and excited when Claire showed these to us a few weeks back. There's another feather stamp set that's being released this month, the other DT are showing them off on their blogs. So make sure to check out all of the DTs blogs so as not to miss anything!

If you were here yesterday, you'll know that I've been having this obsession with the color gold lately. This is my third gold card for the week actually. :) What do you think? This has to be my favorite card so far!

I stamped the feathers on vellum and fussy cut each one. Claire will have cut files for these beauties. I just wanted to fussy cut them, but if you don't have any patience for fussy cutting, then cut files are for you! :) I used Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe, Fresh Peach. The other feather was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

To give it more dimension I scored the "vein" of the feather and slightly folded it in on itself. I could imagine gold confetti surrounding the feathers but didn't have a confetti background stamp. So made do with what I had in my stash. The circle/dot image is actually a berry from Festive Foliage. The smaller dots, believe it or not, actually came from me using the opposite end of a paint brush. I inked it up with the same Hero Arts Soft Sand ink and stamped it randomly. I wanted to use gold ink but didn't have any. Then I was pleasantly surprised that the Soft Sand looked a lot like pale gold. So it all worked out in the end! :)

I have one more card for today. This one is for the Mini Crackle Background stamp. WMS is also releasing a full size background stamp set as well. I used this yesterday on one of my Russian doll cards. It's a wonderful background stamp that I can see myself using a lot.

Since I've been making a lot of feminine cards lately, I thought I would make one masculine card. I'm ashamed to say that Father's Day had come and gone without me making a card for it!!! So in an effort to make up for it, I made a belated Happy Father's Day card for today.

This one is made in combination with Half Pint Heroes, Join Us,  Man of the Hour, and My Kind of Guy. If you saw the samples from yesterday, I also used this background set, and I used HA Soft Sand ink. I found that changing the colors also changed the mood for that the background pattern. So experiment with different colors and have fun with it! :)

There you go! That's all I have for today. I'll be back again on Sunday for the WMS Blog Hop. In the meantime, the other DT ladies are showing off two more new Release Previews tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by today! See you again soon!

Waltzingmouse Stamps July Release Previews - Day 1

***My CASE Study Challenge 147 post is just below. Please scroll down to see it.***

Hello there and welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps July Release Previews! It's Day 1 and we're introducing You're a Doll and You're a Doll Additions today. I am sooo excited to show you what WMS has in store for you this Release!!! It is going to be wonderful!!!! I promise!!! I had so much fun making everything! Everything! :)

We're doing things a little differently this month. Each DT member has a different combination of sets for this Release Preview. So you won't see me throughout all the days of the Release. But just follow it through and I know you will LOVE it! :)

For my project today, I made a little tea party set. I know...no tea cups...what tea party?! lol! OK. Imagine these babies in a tea party! Haha! I was looking through Pinterest to gather some inspiration and found that there are Russian Doll Parties! It's absolutely adorable!!!! So I made this little ensemble with my Russian dolls. :)

I combined the You're a Doll and You're a Doll Additions stamp set with Folk Art Medallion. They were made to complement each other! So beautiful! :) I used Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe, Soft Pool and Soft Brown.

I used the same doll to decorate my wooden tableware. Isn't it adorable?!

I have one more project for today. Remember when I said I got bitten by the gold bug? Here's my second gold card for the week. lol!

I made my own background paper using the image stamps from You're a Doll. Then I heat embossed Flourishes: Scallops and Dots over it in gold. I just love the bold colors combined with the metallic gold.

I stamped and heat embossed parts of the doll and fussy cut the pieces. I just love the play of light on the gold embossing. I paired it with a blue envelope. I think it brings out the colors of the cards nicely.

That's all I have for today! Make sure to come back tomorrow for more sneak peeks of the WMS July 2013 Release! If you're all done here, head on over to the other ladies' blogs. They have more projects to inspire you today! See you again tomorrow! And thank you for stopping by today!

Clear & Simple Stamps - By the Glass Jr.

I'm so excited to finally be able to share that I will be playing along with the Clear & Simple Stamps Design Team this month as well as for July! Some of my favorite crafty peeps are on their DT (Elena, Amber & Kim!) They bring so much inspiration to a lot of us every day. I'm so happy and honored to be able to join them for a bit. :)

Today I'm featuring By the Glass Jr., By the Glass Jr. Too, By the Glass Jr. Sentiments, and By the Glass Jr. Dies. When I saw this set, I immediately wanted to make something chalkboard inspired. I seriously have no idea why!!! So I went ahead and made a card set with a coordinating stationery box for it as well!

It's all very simple and quick to do. I simply heat embossed the images with white embossing powder on smokey grey cardstock. I love how modern it looks! I could already imagine some of my graphic artist friends who would really enjoy a set! This is the stationery box that I made to contain the cards that I made. I made it from THIS tutorial by Nicole

Here are some of the other card designs that are included in the set. I love that there are so many images in these sets and wonderful sentiments to go along with them!

As you can tell my favorite is the Got Milk? image and sentiment. It's absolutely adorable!!!  This set is also great for parties! I can't wait to show you what I made with it for the Party Hop! Clear & Simple Stamps is amazing in that a lot of their stamps sets actually belong to bigger sets that coordinate with each other in order to make party sets, gift sets, etc.

Who would have thought I could pull off a CAS card set?! I hope you like it! Looking for more inspiration?

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll see you all again soon! :)

WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals

Hi there! Just as promised, I made another card using WPlus9's Fresh Cut Florals. This was inspired by this picture I saw on Pinterest.

Isn't it pretty? I love Pinterest. It's absolutely over flowing with inspiration. I tried to make my own flower banner. I used the color combination and added a few other colors as well.

Quick Tip: Use adhesive strips instead of glue, and don't press down until you have it to your liking. This way you can rearrange your flower arrangement if you make a mistake. I use glue on mine and wished I hadn't after I realized I wanted to tweak the arrangement a little more.

The banner and sentiment is from Written on Ribbon. You can stamp it straight on like this. Or you can heat emboss it with white embossing powder. There you go! I hope you liked my card today and found a little bit more inspiration from it. Thanks for stopping by today! I'll see you again! :)

PTI and HA Ink Comparison

Hi there! I'm sure you've heard or seen about the new Hero Arts Shadow Ink colors, Soft Cantaloupe, Fresh Peach and Mint Julep. And if you're anything like me, you would want to see what these colors look like on paper. And even one step further, how it compares to your existing inks.

Well, I've stamped these colors against my Papertrey Ink colors because they seem to be the closest comparison. Also, these are my favorite inks so far. Here we go...

Sorry for the poor stamping, I was in a hurry when I made this. And I was also in a hurry taking these pictures. But you can see how it actually looks on white cardstock. The Soft Cantaloupe is lighter compared to Melon Berry. And Fresh Peach is also lighter than Berry Sorbet. The Soft Cantaloupe is more on the peach/orange side and the Fresh Peach is more on the pink side.

As for the Mint Julep...YEP...it's very minty. lol. I was hoping for lighter inks though. Here are some inspiration photos from Pinterest that I loved so much. When I saw these I was really, really hoping that these new inks would come close. Unfortunately, they didn't. But I still love them though. My favorite is the Soft Cantaloupe. I think these new inks are temporary though. So I hope the next ones they come out with comes closer to these colors that I'm looking for. That's it for today! :) I'll be back tomorrow with a card! :)

Obsessed with Florals

Hi there! I promised I would have a card for you today! I got so many emails and messages from people who loved my floral cards from the latest WPlus9 Release! I'm so happy to read all your kind words! This is a floral card, but not using Fresh Cut Florals. I apologize. My PTI order just came in and I wanted to play around with my new stamps. But I promise to make another card using Fresh Cut Florals for a little bit more inspiration for everyone.

This whole card was made with PTI's Happiness in Bloom stamp set. I absolutely loved it when I saw Nichole's samples during the release previews. I also got a few emails asking me about what inks that I normally use. I use Hero Arts Shadow Inks, PTI Inks, and WPlus9 Pigment Inks. :)

While I was making this card, I was suddenly reminded of my best friend back home. This sentiment had her name all over it. I miss her a lot! :(

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this. I'll be back again for more cards soon! :)

Inks: HA - Soft Cantaloupe, Soft Pink, Fresh Peach, Soft Granite, Wet Cement, Cup O Joe
PTI - Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado
       Versafine - Onyx Black

Lawnscaping Challenge 59

Hi there! Happy Saturday! I hope we're all off to a good start. My DH and I are going to a birthday party for a little 1 year old today. I thought it would be nice to make a card for her to put a gift certificate in. I thought this would be a perfect chance to practice some more on my Lawn Fawn stamps. And what better way to find out if I'm doing it right than to join a Lawn Fawn challenge! :) This is for Lawnscaping Challenge #59

The theme is coloring. And it is absolutely perfect since I just got my Inktense pencils! I have been practicing every chance I get. It's really quite fun so you can imagine that I have a ton of paper scraps with colored in images. :)

For my card today, I kept it neutral. Not for the lack of trying to make it colorful! lol! I tried to color the sheep pink and the blue. But in the end I liked it in white the best! These images are from Critters on the Farm. I hope they come up with dies for this soon! The sentiment is from PTI Tremendous Treats: Birthday. And the background is from Hero Arts.

Here's what the inside looks like. There's a little tab for a gift certificate card. It's a shame really, DH and I usually just end up with gift certificates because we can't decide what to get. I guess it's not so bad, at least whoever we give the certificate to can decide on their own.

I made a little tab and adhered it onto the card base. But before that, I stamped another sheep and a sentiment on it. I used a white marker to outline the sheep in the beginning. But then I changed my mind and colored it in with Inktense pencils. It didn't come out as well as I had planned though. But still, it looks ok. :)

Ok that's it! Thanks for stopping by today! Come back again tomorrow. I have another card to share! :)
