Card Patterns Sketch 70

Hi everyone! It feels like i haven't posted anything for a challenge in a while. So as soon as I saw Card Patterns I knew I had to join! That yummy eye candy by Nina Brackett - Gina K Designs is sooo cute!

Anyway, I used my letter stamps from Inkadinkado to make a background mat and my cutter bee for paper piercing. I'm starting to like this little bee since I don't sew and I don't own a sewing machine. I would love to learn though...perhaps in the future :)

Here it is, I hope you like it! Enjoy!

Supplies:
Carstock - vintage cream, lemon tart, sweet blush (PTI), light tan (Paper Company)
Patterned Paper - K & Company
Stamps - Alphabet stamp (Inkadinkado), Baby Button Bits, Everyday Button Bits (PTI)
Ink - Staz On, Colorbox

I have a link to it on the side of my blog for easy access. Good luck to everyone!

Gable Box

Hi everyone! I wanted to try something different today. I've been seeing a lot of 3D projects like gift bags, boxes, treat boxes and the like in the websites I follow. I made a gable treat box using Papertrey Ink cardstock. It's really great that the cardstock is heavy and thick, it gives great support for this project. I decorated it with some Damask Design stamping and a label using my Nesties. It's sooo cute!!! I want to make a whole bunch of them!!! Hee! I also loved watching the how-to videos on You Tube. It's amazing what you can find there! Anyway, here it is! Enjoy!

PTI Blog Hop - Color

Happy Friday everyone! It's time for PTI's monthly Blog Hop. This time, I learned about it early enough to take my time making my card! :) This month's challenge is your favorite PTI color combination. Well, I have several PTI favorites, but this is what I wanted to use today...

Aqua Mist + Spring Moss + Lemon Tart + Kraft

I love this color combination. Just because you you can use it for either a feminine or masculine card. It's so refreshingly fun and I just love using it. I also loved coloring my flowers, but I must admit to having a hard time cutting them. I can't wait until PTI comes out with a die for it. Here it is, without further ado, enjoy!

Supplies:
Cardstock - Kraft, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart, White (PTI)
Stamps - Friends till the end, Damask Designs, Polkadot Basics 2, Mega Mixed Messages (PTI)
Ink - Aqua Mist (PTI), Moss (Clearsnap), Jet Black (Staz On)
Others - label (Spellbinders), ribbon (Offray), glitter (Martha Stewart)

Baby Card

Hi everyone! Tonight I made a baby card for my cousin-in-law who just gave birth to a healthy baby boy. I used some of my favorite Papertrey Ink elements like Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Kraft, Polkadot Basics 2... to name some :) I was watching Biada at Splitcoast Stampers on You Tube (I just love her videos...and her voice is just sooo relaxing!) earlier this evening and she used several Nestabilities dies on her projects. It made me want to pull out my small collection to use on this card as well! I also did some sponging...again inspired by Biada...she's so right about sponged cardstock being so much richer!

Oooh and I also just got my hands on some cutter bugs! I tried them on this card to make so holes on my card to make it look like I ran it through a sewing machine. I hope in the future I get over my fear of sewing machines and I can get a Jenome. I love the zigzag stitching I see in sooo many cards and feel bad that I can't do the same...maybe next time!!! Anyway, I wasn't trying to be precise with the cutter bug...I just ran it here and there...it's a cool tool to have!

I'm considering going to IL for the CHA Craft Supershow!!! :) Just so I can see all my favorite products and designers!!! I hope if I do go that I get to see some of you there! Wouldn't that be great?!?!!!! Should I buy my tickets in advanced or is it ok to get them there? I was only planning on going for 1 day and then spend a few days going around the area...is there a one-day pass for the show?

Anyway, here's my baby card for tonight. Enjoy!

Supplies:
Cardstock - Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Kraft (PTI), brown (Paper Company)
Patterned Paper - K & Company
Stamps - Bitty Baby Blessings (PTI)
Ink - Tea Dye (Tim Holtz), Versamark, Colorbox
Others - Dies (Spellbinders), edge punch (Martha Stewart), ribbon (Offray)

Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone! I made a new card last night and was unable to post it because it was so late and I was really sleepy. But this is a totally different card from the cards I've been making so far. I'm not so much into dark cards, so I have no idea how this came about haha! Anyway, I liked how it turned out though. My order from Stampin' Up came the other day and I really wanted to use that gorgeous stamp from the True Friend stamp set. I didn't know how I was going to use it, only that I wanted to layer it...so I ended up layering circles and the label from my Nestabilities. I'm not sure what to make of it, tell me what you think ok?! Enjoy! Thanks for dropping by!

Supplies:
Cardstock - kraft, black, white (PTI)
Stamps - True Friend, sentiment (SU), Lovely Labels (Gina K), Damask Designs (PTI)
Others - ribbon (Wendy), Impressabilities, labels (Spellbinders)

Embellish Magazine Color Challenge Baby Theme #2

Hi everyone! I was going through my favorite blogs and saw Embellish Magazine's color challenge once more. And once again, I was inspired to make another card for submission. This is different from my last one. As you can see...no label stamps. hahaha! I thought I'd deviate from it a bit today. I had just gotten my Spellbinders dies and I really wanted to use them. I thought it would be perfect to use on a baby theme card.

I love, love, love the Spellbinder Dies. I'm only starting to build my collection. But I'll get there eventually! Just like I will if I ever get to start on my Copic marker collection!!! ;) Anyway, here's my second card for this color challenge! Enjoy!

Supplies:
Cardstock - vintage cream, spring moss, lemon tart (PTI), peach (DCWV)
Patterned Paper - Me & My Big Ideas
Stamps - monkey (Inkadinkado), sentiment (PTI), For You (SU)
Ink - Colorbox, Staz On
Others - edge punch (Martha Stewart, Fiskars), ribbon (Offray)

Absolutely Fabulous!

Hi everyone! I've read that most paper crafters make their best work during the wee hours of the night. I don't know about myself, but I just take forever in making a card. Which is why I end up posting my work so late. Haha! I can never make up my mind about what to make. And I almost always start with no idea whatsoever! I always need something to start with, like a stamp or a patterned paper, or an idea from a magazine. I'm not one to carry a little sketch pad where I put all my great ideas. But hopefully one day ideas will just come. My inspiration for this card was the gorgeous flower in Papertrey Ink's Friends till the End stamp set. I started from there...and this is where it led me...

I wish Papertrey Ink would come up with a line of lighter cardstock for layering purposes. Does anyone find it too thick for this? I was thinking of postage and hoped that this card wasn't too heavy. I also had a hard time using the intricate Martha Stewart edge punch. I was a bit afraid I might break it because of all the pressure I had to put just to punch the heavy cardstock. Ah well....perhaps in the future there will be a lighter cardstock from Papertrey Ink that will carry all of their wonderful colors.

Speaking of colors...I colored the huge flower using colored pencils, then finished them off with gamsol to even out everything. I can't tell you how much I want Copic markers!!! :) I'll probably try to collect them slowly as I am doing with my long...long...long...want list from Papertrey Ink. Anyway, here's my card. I hope you all like it! Enjoy!

Supplies:
Cardstock - cream, spring moss (PTI)
Patterned Paper - pink damask (Me & My Big Ideas)
Stamps - Friends till the End, Mega Mixed Messages (PTI), script background (Hero Arts)
Ink - Staz On, Distress Ink (Tim Holtz), brown (Colorbox)
Others - ribbon (Walmart), oval, scalloped oval (Spellbinders), edge punch (Martha Stewart)

WMSC3 Sketch

Hi friends! Advanced Happy Father's Day to everyone! We celebrated it earlier and had dinner tonight instead of the dreaded wait tomorrow when everyone's out. Anyway, Waltzingmouse Stamps came up with another sketch today. I LOVED Claire and Jennifer's cards! They were sooo beautiful. I wanted to use my Damask Stamp set with this one, and what better color to stamp it on but on pink! :) And YES, I'm still stuck on labels!!! I used my favorite label stamp from Lovely Labels AGAIN... I can't wait for next month when I can order in my Label stamp sets from Waltzingmouse!!! If I'm stuck on this one stamp set...I can't imagine how stuck I'm going to be when I get those label stamp sets!!! Here it is, enjoy!!!

Like I said, I was still hung up on my Lovely Labels stamp set from Gina K. This one is my absolute favorite in the entire collection. Now I just have to get my hands on the Spellbinders coordinating die!

I hope the colors came out ok. My peach cardstock looks a little orange. I tried fixing it in Photoshop but I just couldn't get the right colors to come out. Anyway, I still like how it turned out. Enjoy!

I can't wait until I get all the coordinating Nestabilities dies for it. Anyway, this is a relatively simple card. I just used my PTI Damask Designs stamp set to make the background. Then used 2 stamps from the Lovely Labels to make the layered central label. I just love it sooo much, I think you'll be seeing more cards with labels this week! :) Enjoy!

Hi friends! My new stamp sets came in today!!! Yay! So...I HAD to try some of them out! :) Since I made the Color Cue Challenge last night I was still stuck with the color combination. I've also been waiting for my Turning a New Leaf from Papertrey Ink for quite awhile now. I got in some other stamp sets but I couldn't use them all on one card hee! Maybe I'll use them on the next challenge that catches my eye. I also used a sketch from Go-to-Sketches on Papercrafts. Anyway, I hope you like it. Color Cue {5} Challenge

Hi friends! How's your week going so far? I managed to squeeze in a little card making tonight. I saw the Color Cue challenge and I really loved the fun color combo. I was looking through my Paper Crafts magazine this morning and I loved Debbie Olson's wedding card. So I CASEd (thanks Edna I now know what this means hee!) it and I just love how it turned out. Don't you just love Debbie? She's like on a whole different "stamping" field!!! She should change her blog name to Stamping Diva/Goddess or something! :) Her cards never fail to capture my attention. And I love her precision and attention to detail. So, thanks for the inspiration Debbie!!!

Enjoy the rest of the week everyone!

Birthday Wishes

Hi friends! I didn't join any challenge tonight. I thought I'd just wing it :) I found one of my favorite patterned paper from a few months ago and I was reinspired all over again. I was also looking through Paulina's blog and I just watched her cute video. I must say, I really love those few graphic artists who are generous enough with their time to make videos for everyone. She was using her Nestabilities Label One and I was inspired to use mine too!

I've been going back and forth checking if Papertrey Ink has their Beautiful Blossoms die #1, but I haven't been lucky so far. I hand cut mine after I stamped and heat embossed it. I also put some glitter in the center of the Stampin' Up flower to give it some sparkle. So here it is, I hope you like it. Enjoy!

I was so delighted to find out that Waltzing Mouse Stamps has coordinating stamp sets too!!! I can't wait to order them!!!

Kwerner Readers' Choice Color Inspiration #3

Hi friends! Happy Saturday! I had a hard time making anything at all today. I actually wanted to wait for my new stamp sets to come in (yay!) but Kristina Werner's challenge was only until tonight. I'm not very good with the color violet. I don't like the color so much. But this combination was very nice and I thought..why not...give it a shot. So, I tried to make some handmade paper flowers again from that video I saw last week. I love the look of the paper flower so much. I don't even know what kind of flower it is! Hee! Sorry I was never a green thumb...plants seem to die all around me. I just like to look! Haha!

It takes some time to make the flowers. I had to cut the petals from a scallop circle die cut. Ink them. Curl and distress the edges of the petals. Add glitter. THEN attach them one by one to a base. I like how it always comes out though! Anyway, here it is...my submission for Kristina Werner's Color Challenge! Enjoy!

Oops, I guess I was too late! I didn't notice the 12:00pm MDT. Oooh well! I hope you all enjoy the card anyway!

Supplies:
Cardstock - white, eggplant (PTI), brown, lavender, olive (Paper Company)
Stamps - Polkadot Basics 2 (PTI), sentiment (SU)
Ink - eggplant (Whispers), white, light olive (Colorbox)
Others - brad, glitters, rhinestones

CQC #36

Hi all! I found a new color challenge today! This is a wonderfully warm color combination. I hope I did it justice! I combined some circles from the Beautiful Blooms 2 stamp set from PTI to make the background. I also made the paper flowers. I stumbled upon a video on You tube on handmade paper flowers. I was hooked after watching it and I tried a LOT of combinations heee! This just happened to be yellow and so I was really glad that I could use it on this card.
I just love my Nestabilities Label 1. I'm starting to collect them every since AC Moore started selling them. I'm thinking if I buy 1 and use either a 40% or 50% off coupon every Sunday, I'll eventually end up with everything on my wishlist! :) Anyway, here's the card submission! Enjoy!

Supplies:
Cardstock - Papertrey Ink
Stamps - Beautiful Blooms 2, Vintage Labels (PTI), Sentiment (SU)
Ink - Colorbox.
Others - Spellbinders Nestabilities Label One

Anyway, here's my submission. Enjoy!

WMSC1 and Embellish Magazine Color Challenge with Labels, DRS Caardvarks Challenge with Embossing

Hi everyone! Like I said, I LOVE this color combination!!! Here's another submission for Embellish Magazine Color Challenge with Labels. Only this time I wanted to use it on 3 challenges I saw this morning! :) Talk about all purpose! :)

I used the color combination from the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge, used a label, used the card sketch from the Waltzing Mouse Card Challenge and used embossing for the DRS Caardvarks Challenge! I really love how this card came out. I hope you enjoy it as much as I LOVED making it!

I really wish you could see this in person. The picture doesn't do it justice. I STILL haven't mastered it and the colors always come out muted and dull.  I tried taking pictures in both natural and indoor lighting (home-made light box). Can you tell I really love the card with all the pictures?! Hee! Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Cardstock - Vintage Cream, Chocolate Brown (PTI), Coral, Yellow (DCWV)
