More on Violets

Hi everyone! I was planning on making an Embellish Magazine challenge tonight but I found myself just sitting stumped haha :) So I went through my favorite blogs for some inspiration. Instead I found Maile Belle's website with a card with olive green polka dots! I love polka dots on my cards! And so I instantly started making one with polka dots on it. When I had the finished matting, I stopped and stared at it for awhile and after a few seconds knew that I really really wanted to use my absolute favorite stamp set. Violets! 

My husband asked me why I kept on using it over and over. I told him I didn't have that many stamp sets since I just started collecting them....but that he could contribute to my collection any time!!! Heee!  I hope you ladies aren't tired of seeing this favorite stamp set of mine! I just love it to pieces! Here it is, enjoy!

Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 29

Hi everyone! I found a new website offering color challenges thanks to all of you. I go through blogs I follow almost everyday (even when I don't leave a comment...not very good with words...) and I also try to look at the blogs that everyone loves to follow. I've been looking for blogs/websites with challenges lately. It seems to be better making a card with a specific target in mind rather than just going at it. At least that's what I think. This color challenge is beautiful! I LOVE the colors sooo much! And I love the way these color challenges have beautiful pictures for inspiration as well.

Because the colors are so elegant, I wanted to use them with my favorite flower stamp set. PTI's Year of Flowers: Violets. I know, I know...they're violets but I colored them orange and yellow haha. That's what I love about the stamp set. They can be any color I want them to be :) I wish you could all see the vibrant orange of the ribbon though. My camera is only a point and shoot camera and sometimes it makes things darker than what they really are. Still, I love this card. Enjoy!

Embellish Magazine Color Challenge with Dimension

Hi! Wow Saturday just flew by! If you read my last blog, I was not too happy about the previous card I made for this challenge. And so I thought I'd try again today. I was sitting so long on my craft table just staring at the coordinating colored cardstock for this challenge. It was really frustrating. In the end, I thought I'd try something new but still me...atleast I think this is new to me ;) I'm not much for using flowers unless they're stamped on. But I see so many beautiful cards with them...so I started with small flowers :) I used dimensions to raise the circle for my focal point. Anyway, here's my submission for the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge! Enjoy!

Embellish Magazine Color Challenge with Dimension

Hi all! Happy Friday! :) This was supposed to be my entry for Embellish Magazine's Color Challenge. But after I posted it on the site, I suddenly wasn't so sure about it and wanted to make another one. But I'm still posting it here on my blog anyway for you guys. Perhaps tomorrow, when I feel more creative juices I'll put it up on Embellish Magazine :)

I can't decide if I like color challenges or sketch challenges more. I love the colors of this challenge! It's bright enough, but not too bright. It's also dark but not too dark...does that make any sense? Haha!

Anyway, I put dimensions on the backs of my flowers. It's not very visible though, I use 3M foam adhesives. They're not as thick as foam adhesives you buy in your favorite craft stores, but it lasts a loooong time...and I try to cut each into a tiny piece to save on them :)  Here's my card! Enjoy!

Caardvarks May Challenge

Hi! I found a new blog that offers card challenges! Yay! I love card challenges. Perhaps one day...I'll win one :) Anyway, I was looking at their card sketch for this challenge and thought it might be just a little bit hard to make for me. I like simple...and two scallop edges on one card...might be too much for me. But I tried to make one. And I LOVE how it looks! Here's their sketch.

I was also going through Ashley's website today and she had just made a beautiful pink card. Which is why, I was inspired to use pink on my card as well :) She's such a great designer. I love her work. Well most of it, sometimes it gets too elaborate for me. But she does it with such grace I think. :) Here's my card. Enjoy! Cross your fingers, I hope I win! Floral Card

Hi all! It's Monday again! And the only thing that makes Monday great for me is Kristina Werner's MACM videos! I'm such a fan of Kristina's, I love that she shares so much of her creativity and talent with so many people through her videos. I'm really really inspired to make a video of my own haha. (hmm... perhaps next time :) ) Anyway, this card isn't based on the card that Kristina made. I was just inspired to make a card today after watching her video. So, without further ado, here it is. Hi all! This week's CPS sketch is:

I was completely out of ideas this morning and I refused to go near my craft table lest I waste any of my supplies making something I didn't like. I was cleaning up yesterday and threw away a lot of scraps of paper that I don't use anymore. Aside from the scraps, I found old cards that I had made that were just sorry to look at. (Oops!) And I had heard someone say before that if you're not feeling very creative at the moment, just step back, wait awhile, then come back later. Well, I did step back. Right into my computer desk! Haha! And found this new CPS Sketch! Thank you CPS!!! So, newly inspired, I went back to my craft table and made this! Enjoy!
