Obsessed with Florals

Hi there! I promised I would have a card for you today! I got so many emails and messages from people who loved my floral cards from the latest WPlus9 Release! I'm so happy to read all your kind words! This is a floral card, but not using Fresh Cut Florals. I apologize. My PTI order just came in and I wanted to play around with my new stamps. But I promise to make another card using Fresh Cut Florals for a little bit more inspiration for everyone.

This whole card was made with PTI's Happiness in Bloom stamp set. I absolutely loved it when I saw Nichole's samples during the release previews. I also got a few emails asking me about what inks that I normally use. I use Hero Arts Shadow Inks, PTI Inks, and WPlus9 Pigment Inks. :)

While I was making this card, I was suddenly reminded of my best friend back home. This sentiment had her name all over it. I miss her a lot! :(

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this. I'll be back again for more cards soon! :)

Inks: HA - Soft Cantaloupe, Soft Pink, Fresh Peach, Soft Granite, Wet Cement, Cup O Joe
PTI - Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado
       Versafine - Onyx Black

Lawnscaping Challenge 59

Hi there! Happy Saturday! I hope we're all off to a good start. My DH and I are going to a birthday party for a little 1 year old today. I thought it would be nice to make a card for her to put a gift certificate in. I thought this would be a perfect chance to practice some more on my Lawn Fawn stamps. And what better way to find out if I'm doing it right than to join a Lawn Fawn challenge! :) This is for Lawnscaping Challenge #59

The theme is coloring. And it is absolutely perfect since I just got my Inktense pencils! I have been practicing every chance I get. It's really quite fun so you can imagine that I have a ton of paper scraps with colored in images. :)

For my card today, I kept it neutral. Not for the lack of trying to make it colorful! lol! I tried to color the sheep pink and the blue. But in the end I liked it in white the best! These images are from Critters on the Farm. I hope they come up with dies for this soon! The sentiment is from PTI Tremendous Treats: Birthday. And the background is from Hero Arts.

Here's what the inside looks like. There's a little tab for a gift certificate card. It's a shame really, DH and I usually just end up with gift certificates because we can't decide what to get. I guess it's not so bad, at least whoever we give the certificate to can decide on their own.

I made a little tab and adhered it onto the card base. But before that, I stamped another sheep and a sentiment on it. I used a white marker to outline the sheep in the beginning. But then I changed my mind and colored it in with Inktense pencils. It didn't come out as well as I had planned though. But still, it looks ok. :)

Ok that's it! Thanks for stopping by today! Come back again tomorrow. I have another card to share! :)

WPlus9 June 2013 Release Group Post

I can't believe it's time for the WPlus9 Group Post already. It seems only a few days ago I was having so much fun playing with my new WPlus9 stamps. :) Have you been to the WPlus9 Design Studio to see the Full Reveal yet? I hope you liked everything that you saw. Dawn's designs are always amazing! Don't you think?

Here's my card for the group post....I used my favorite set out of the release...Fresh Cut Florals. I stamped the flowers and leaves onto their coordinating die cuts and built a wreath. I also stamped one of the leaf images in several places and embossed it gold. I thought that brought more elegance to the card.

I stamped several color combinations before coming up with this. It's quite fun to change up the colors. It completely changes the mood of the card. I also stamped and embossed the sentiment from Strictly Sentiments 2 in gold to tie things together. Here's a close up of the flowers. I just adhered them onto the cardstock with some glue. But you can change it up a bit and add dimension by adhering them at different heights using foam tape. I imagine that would look quite beautiful too! :)

I once mentioned that I stamp a lot of color combinations on some scratch paper for testing. Someone wanted to see what my scratch papers looked like and another person wanted to see how I come up with my color combinations. Well...here it is! :) There's more of it, but I crumpled most of them before I remembered that I had to take a picture of them. :)

Nothing special. I just stamp away like a mad stamper! lol! I combine colors that I think will go well and I use the images I want to use to see if they will look good in the colors that I've chosen. I also look at Pinterest a lot for inspiration. It can be anything from packaging, a table setting, a dress...etc.

I made a second card for today's Group Post. This one is more on the cutesy side. For my second card, I used Sweets & Treats and Backgrounds & Borders. I used one of the sentiments from Sweets & Treats to make most of my background paper. Then just added a border from Backgrounds & Borders on the bottom.

I  die cut some circles out of a few scraps of patterned paper. Then I adhere my cupcakes on them. I added a little pink bow to finish things off.

There you go! What do you think? I've enjoyed this release so much! I hope it's obvious in my work! :) Thank you sooo much for all your kind words. They give me a boost every time and bring some sunshine to my days.

If you're done here, please head on over to the other ladies' blogs for more inspiration. The rest of the ladies will be joining us a little later on this month, so watch out for that! :)

WPlus9 June 2013 Release Previews - Day 3

Hi there! Day 3 of the WPlus9 June 2013 Release Previews is here! If you're just joining us you can check out Day 1 and 2 here and here. Today we're introducing Backgrounds & Borders and Strictly Sentiments 2.

For my first card, I stamped Backgrounds & Borders with Versamark onto a strip of Berry Sorbet cardstock. Then I heat embossed it white. I adhered a smaller strip of gray cardstock across it. I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from Strictly Sentiments 2 underneath it.

I die cut some flowers and leaves from Fresh Cut Florals dies and stamped their coordinating images on them. Then I made a little floral arrangement for my focal point. I also added these adorable My Mind's Eye Enamel Dots.

For my second card, I made a CAS one! You all know I've been practicing this style. I would like to believe I'm getting there one CAS card trial at a time. :)

I just used Background & Borders to make my background patterned paper. I loved the colors I used on my first card that I wanted to bring it in to this second one.

I used a circle punch on some Melon Berry striped patterned paper and stamped my sentiment from Strictly Sentiments 2. Then I just adhered it onto the upper right corner of the card.

What do you think? How do CAS people do it?!?!?! Sooo hard! lol! I hope you enjoyed today's cards. Tomorrow is the full release over at the WPlus9 Design Sutdio. I hope you're all excited!!! Thanks for stopping by today! I'll see you again soon! :)

WPlus9 June 2013 Release Previews - Day 2

Welcome! Welcome! It's Day 2 of the WPlus9 June Release Previews. Today we're having a cupcake party! :) Introducing Sweets and Treats, Sweets and Treats Fillers + Dies and Cupcake Wrap Die and Accessories.

Before you go ooh and aah over the cupcakes...they are store bought! I'm too lazy to bake heehee. These stamps and dies are awesome for a cupcake party though!!! Here's a small sample for a cupcake themed party that you can easily make at home.

First off, I made these cute cupcake wrappers using the Cupcake Wrapper Die and coordinating Accessories. The accessories include the band and the cut little bow that I adhered on the cupcake wrapper.

Then I made these cute little cupcake tags that I adhered onto some cake pop sticks. Since there are coordinating dies for them it's easy to make a lot for parties.

I also made a coordinating card for the party. I thought this had such a cute sentiment. I would definitely seize the cupcake! lol! I inked up the background panel using a blending tool. Then I die cut these clouds from the Hearts and Clouds Die. I colored them in with Copic markers and made the cupcakes look like they're floating in mid air along with the clouds.

Been wanting to try out a DIY party? This is a good place to start! You can also use the little cupcake images on food labels, thank you cards and gift tags! I hope I've given you some inspiration here today. If you're looking for more, head on over to the WPlus9 Design Blog as well as the rest of the DT ladies' blogs! Thanks for stopping by today! See you again tomorrow!

WPlus9 June 2013 Release Previews

Hello! It's me again! I hope you're not tired of me yet! I have another release prepared for you this week! It's WPlus9's June 2013 Release Previews! This month's release is absolutely awesome! I'm so excited to share all my projects with you!!! :)

For today's previews, we're introducing Fresh Cut Florals + Dies and Milk and Cookies + Dies. I used Fresh Cut Florals for my first card. You are going to have a ball with this one! I had so much fun with it I couldn't stop stamping!!! lol.

I made a patterned paper panel using the stamps. I stamped in the light colors then stamped in the darker colors above the light ones to get this effect. Then I die cut the flowers and leaves and made this little flower arrangement. The label die cut is Label Layers 1.

For my second card, I used Milk and Cookies. I die cut the milk bottles from the dark kraft cardstock. Then I did partial die cutting with the bottles around the edges. You should try this out on some scratch paper before you do this for your final product.

Once I finished with the die cutting, I stamped in the images through the negative side of the die cut cardstock. I finished things off by using a white marker to make a frame around the panel. I also added some twine around the card.

I think this would make a great card set! It's nice and neutral. Just add some kraft envelopes and you're all set!

I hope you enjoyed that! I've got a lot more lined up for you. I am so excited to show you!!! Come back tomorrow for more! In the mean time, if you're done here, head on over to the WPlus9 Design blog and the other DT ladies for more inspiration! Thanks for stopping by today. See you again tomorrow!
