Moxie Fab World: Jewel Tones Challenge

Hi bloggies! I have a card to rush in today for the Moxie Fab World Challenges. This was the hardest combination for me and so it took me awhile to make it. Here's the color combination for the Moxie Fab World: Jewel Tones Challenge.

I had such a hard time that I made one card....wasn't happy with it....made another card...and still not sure if I'm happy with it. My first card was an attempt at CAS. Did I mention I'm bad at CAS? Haha! But I tried it none-the-less. My focus on this card was the rich purple color. What do you think of my CAS? I really should practice some more. You won't believe how hard it was to stop myself from layering and layering and layering!!! :)

My second card started from the Friendship Jars (PTI) stamp set. It was the prize I picked over at the last PTI Blog Hop that I was very fortunate to win. I really wanted to get it because I loved the Halloween and Christmas Jar fillers. And of course you have to start with the Friendship Jars before you could use the rest of the fillers. It arrived Friday night along with my other orders, and I didn't know how to make it work with my style. I still have to work on that too! :) Hopefully, I'll be able to make it fit my style somehow. Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 67

Here's my take on this challenge. I used my newly acquired and very much appreciated Mat Stack 3 Collection. It's just gorgeous! I also used one of my favorite stamp sets from Papertrey Ink, Love Lives Here. I just love this stamp set. I also got the dies...finally. Hee! I wanted them so I could have those cute hearts punched in the center of the images. I've also had my eye on the Victorian Lace Border die and it also just came in last night. I don't know if you've noticed, but I stamped In Bloom in lavender in the background. After I was done with this card, I realized I had used so many Papertrey Ink products on it! :) I love Papertrey Ink! :) Won't you come join us and play a round of Curtain Call Color Challenge?! :)

WMSC 32

Happy Saturday everyone! I was a bit busy making cards for my other DT assignments and so I only had the time to post this now. As it is a wonderful Saturday, it's also time for Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge. Sometimes, WM sketches really make you go out of your comfort zone and try to come up with something wonderful. Here's their sketch for WMSC 32. Let's see what I made with it! :)

While I was trying to think of what to do with this sketch, I remembered my very talented friend Aimes who loves to go rogue on some of her card challenges. With a little smile on my face, I decided to do the same on this one! Haha! I followed most of the sketch...but not to the tee. This is what I came up with. I was inspired by the last winning card to make my own flower for this challenge. I used McGill's flower punches to make this paper flower. Seriously, I have no idea what flower it could possibly be...it's a Jean flower hahaha! I thought it turned out well though. I also haven't used my Quickutz Monarch butterfly die in a while and it was PERFECT for this card. 

And since this is a Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge, I opted to use WMS stamps. I used Vintage Label 10 for that gorgeous pink frame. And Fancy Phrases for the sentiment as well as the beautiful label it's on. I hope you like this one. I think this might be my favorite card yet! :) Thanks for stopping by, I'll see you again later!

Get Sketchy 72

Happy Friday friends!!! Finally, the weekend. It seemed like such a long week and all this snow wasn't helping. My Waltzing Mouse Stamps and PTI orders came in today! Yay!!! I was so giddy with happiness when I arrived from work to see all the boxes stacked. I just love getting craft goodies! Of course, I had to try it out on something! And Get Sketchy's sketch was perfect for it.
Here's their Get Sketchy 72.

I have had my eye on Waltzing Mouse's Seasons of Love stamp set for such a long time now. There's just so many good stamp sets there that I didn't know which one to get first!!! Well, I finally have my hands on it! Yay! The heart and sentiment both came from the set. I'm not too happy with my SU ink though. The red wasn't vibrant enough for what I had in mind. I'm thinking I should get a red pigment ink just for this stamp! I didn't want to use chalk ink and stain the set. My other favorite stamp set Victorian Frippery is so stained from using chalk inks that I'm tempted to buy a new set! The strip of flourish along side the patterned paper is also from Waltzing Mouse Stamps, it's their Very Vintage Christmas set. 

Lately, I've been thinking of setting up an Etsy shop. I have a lot of cards that are just sitting around here and not being put to good use. I would love to see them go to people who would enjoy a good handmade card. I'm not fully convinced yet, but I wanted to know your thoughts. If you have an Etsy store I would love to hear about it.

Color Throwdown #126

Hi blogland! We were snowed in today, 19 inches of snow piled onto all the snow that hasn't even melted from the time it last snowed. I didn't have work today and I know I should have cranked out more than one card today. But I was feeling so relaxed and just wanted to enjoy the day doing nothing. :) I don't know about you. But I have those days where I have to take a break from all my card making. 


I've actually been waiting for my Papertrey Ink order to arrive. It was supposed to arrive on Wednesday, but all this darn snow just kept pushing the date of arrival back. UPS sent me so many change of delivery emails it wasn't funny. They say it will arrive when the weather allows it. I hope tomorrow will be the day. I can't imagine how much longer my Waltzing Mouse Stamps order will take since they're going to be coming from all the way from Ireland! I tell you, I have the smallest amount of patience!!! I need to have more of it.


Onto the challenge. I was looking for a new challenge to join tonight and I stumbled upon the Color Throwdown. I know it's been there a while since I see a lot of my bloggie friends join their challenges. I don't know why I waited until now to join. Their Color Throwdown 126 is just gorgeous. One of my favorite color combinations to date. 

For this challenge, I used my favorite stamp set from Waltzing Mouse Stamps, their oh so gorgeous Victorian Frippery. This is always good for an elegant background. I also used their Vintage Labels 4 for the central panel. Can you see my Martha Stewart doilies peaking out from the sides? Aren't they just cute?! I'm sooo happy I finally have them. I also added some leaves from PTI's Leaf Print. I don't use this set enough, but I remember a time where I just had to get my hands on them. And when I finally did, I didn't know what to do with them!!!! It was frustrating to say the least!

PTI January Blog Hop

Hi peeps! It's PTI's January Blog Hop. I'm sooo late with this. I didn't have much time for my card for this blog hop. I had 30 minutes to make it. But you know me, I take a long time to make just one card because of all my layering and what not.

This stamp isn't as dusty and unused as the hop calls for, but since I bought it, I haven't used it too much. It was one of my favorites when it was newly released. Which is why I'm using it right now.

Mojo Monday 175

Hi peeps! What a Monday! It's freezing cold here and the weather doesn't seem to want to let up. I hope it gets better as the week goes by. Tonight I have a card for Mojo Monday 175. Here's the sketch.

For this card I used some patterned papers from My Mind's Eye and October Afternoon. I wish OA was easily found in Michael's and AC Moore. It's rarely there and if it ever is, it's usually one by one and never in the 12 x 12 or 6 x 6 pads. I'm so jealous of people who have Hobby Lobbies, I'm pretty sure you have them there! Although I've never been to one, I hear they have a good collection of all things crafty. 

This card is pretty simple. I concentrated more on the circle with the flower and butterfly. The stamps are from Waltzing Mouse Stamps, Victorian Frippery and Asian Gardens. The flower, I actually bought the plastic/fabric flowers from AC Moore then I removed them one by one and use them this way. I love the texture and color of the fabric flowers better than the plastic ones. The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart. It's one of my favorite punches. Thanks for stopping by! :)

WMSC31

Hi peeps! I have one last post for tonight. Goodness it's VERY late, I didn't even notice the time. I had this idea for the WMSC31 since this morning and I only had late tonight to put it in paper. I finally finished it and used my DIY lightbox for taking this picture. I hope you'll tell me if the quality is good. Here's the sketch for this challenge.

I've been wanting to use this owl from my Tattered Angels Cocoa Glimmer Chips for some time now. But the opportunity never presented itself. I thought it was perfect for this card though, so yay, I could finally use it. The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye and October Afternoon. The stamps are from WMS, Very Vintage Labels 4 and  Compliments of the Season.

CR84FN12

Good morning everyone! It a beautiful Sunday, the skies are blue and the sun is shining. When I opened my blog this morning to check out the new posts I found a new CR84FN12 Challenge.This one is just as soft and inviting as all the other combinations that they come up with. 

I made this card with a lot of stamping and coloring. I used Tattered Angels Flowering Vine for that wonderful frame and flourish. The scribble is from Hero Arts. And the cherry blossoms are from Rubber Stampede, which I bought after I saw my friend Christina use it on one of her cards. Isn't it gorgeous?! After stamping and coloring it, I thought something was missing. So I took my Copic marker and started adding dots all around the branches and flowers. Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 66

Hi peeps! I'm back again for some Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 66! Stacey has chosen warm pink and red tones for this color combination. And our photo inspiration are these pair of cute pink mittens. 

As usual, I don't have all the SU colors on our color palette this week. But even if you don't, you can work with similar colors like I always do. I chose this patterned paper from DCWV called Luxury Stack. It had the beautiful cherry and pink that I needed. And I added some Distressed dots from Papertrey Ink for the burgundy color. I couldn't resist adding some lace to this card. You know me, if it's not ribbon, then it's lace! Hee! :) 

I handmade the paper flower using some Marvy Uchida punches. You know those 5 petal ones that are color green? I cut the edges to give them a more realistic edge then I used my embossing tool to add texture and shape to each petal.  There are 4 big flowers on the bottom and 3 small flowers on top. I also stamped a label from Holiday Labels 14 from Waltzing Mouse Stamps and the birdcages from Papertrey Ink. I hope this inspires you to join us this week at Curtain Call Color Challenge! Moxie Fab World: Metallic Challenge and Card Patterns 99

Happy Saturday everyone! I've been trying to join all of the Moxie Fab World color challenges before the 31st. Here's a card for their Metallic Challenge. I also used the sketch from Card Patterns 99 for this card as well. It's such a great sketch and it was perfect for these colors.

This was such a wonderful sketch to work with. And the color combination was perfect for it. I tried something that I've been seeing other crafters have been doing lately. I've used two different colored ribbons to make the bow. It looks nice. For my focal image I stamped some Violets (PTI) flowers and leaves on some white cardstock. I colored it with some copics and die cut the circle with some Spellbinders dies. I might have colored it a little darker than called for though. The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye. Moxie Fab World: The Bright and Bold Challenge

Hi peeps! I have a late post for tonight. I was busy watching one of my favorite shows that I almost didn't make a card tonight. But I didn't want to disappoint anyone since I didn't have anything posted since yesterday. This one is for the Bright and Bold Challenge over at Moxie Fab World. I have to tell you, this was such a hard color combination for me. I'm still not very good with bold and bright colors. But I've been trying and challenging myself a lot with it. Here's the color combination for this challenge.

After a few days of contemplating this color combination...well I gave up and just sat down and let myself work at it one piece at a time. This is what I came up with. I wanted to use the colors but still retain my style. So I used mostly white and black, and then I added bursts of pink and orange here and there. In the end it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I actually like the outcome! :) Thanks for stopping by tonight. I hope you like my Bright and Bold card entry! :)

Hi peeps! I'm back for another challenge today. I decided to take a break from the Moxie Fab World challenges. I saw this gorgeous color combination over at Play Date Cafe. Oh my gosh! It's gorgeous! The inspiration photos that came with the colors were just beautiful! I couldn't resist. I HAD to join this one. Here's their color combination.

Here's my take on this wonderful color challenge. I used Waltzing Mouse Stamps from Victorian Frippery and Holiday Labels. I also used the flourish border stamp from Technique Tuesday. I think I'll be using this color combination another time soon. You should all give it a try! It was so much fun making this card. 

I was informed by Blogger that I had already used up my 1GB free space for photos. Has this every happened to you? Did you buy the space that they were selling? Moxie Fab World: Pretty Pastels Challenge

Hello bloggies! Yesterday marks my 100th follower. Never had I thought it would reach this much. I remember being so happy reaching 10 followers when I first started! Hahaha! Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments and support throughout these many months. It's been a wonderful adventure every day with all these wonderful challenges and blog hops.  I've met and befriended so many wonderful people online. And the out-pouring of inspiration is just phenomenal! I myself follow a TON of talented ladies. I always look forward to see what each one has in store everyday.


Now onto today's card. It's been a busy day with very little time for crafting, but I managed to squeeze in one card for the series of Moxie Fab Challenges I wanted to join in. This time, I have a card for the Pretty Pastels Challenge. 

Since it's all pastels...well...it had to be a soft girlie-girlie card. Here's my take on this color challenge. It's all lace and doilies for this one! :) The image stamps are from Inkadinkado. I just love that dragonfly stamp, it's so beautiful! The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye, Lush and Paris collections. It's a pretty simple card...considering all of the lace in there haha! And I stopped myself from adding a ribbon! :)  I hope you're all having a wonderful start to the week. I'll see you all again tomorrow!
