Hi bloggies! I know it's Mother's Day today, but I did not have such a great day. A week ago I received an email from Michael's saying that there had been some PIN machine tampering at their Chicago establishments. Well, I figured they would have it fixed by now. Yesterday, I went to Michael's for some retail therapy (I was missing my mom.) Anyway, I used my debit card for the purchase. To make the long story short...today I checked in on my online account. And lo and behold, someone had withdrawn $503.00 yesterday and $503.00 from my account today. Argh!!! I was thinking this wouldn't happen to me.

So please. Until all this is fixed. Don't use your debit or credit cards on ANY Michael's stores. I'm really upset, I was trying to make a card for an hour now and nothing was coming to mind. I cancelled my debit card and am going to the bank tomorrow morning to dispute these fraudulent withdrawals.

Anyway, I have one more card for my mom. I kept the first one simple, but I wanted to make another one that had more of my flare in it. It isn't for any challenge. I just wanted to make it for my mom. :)

I combined some Waltzingmouse Stamps together with Papertrey Ink for this one. I used Victorian Frippery for that gorgeous border. And Faux Fun for the pink strip in the middle. The sentiments and banner are from Roses In Bloom, Frame It, and Bitty Banners. I really love the sentiments in Frame It. Don't you just wish they had something that was absolutely the same only BIGGER?! :) Anyway the Vintage Buttons card is from Papertrey Ink, as well as the background text style that's faintly visible on the top and bottom of the card.

I hope you're having a better Mother's Day than I am. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. oh, Jean, that is terrible news!! you'd think Michaels being such a big chain would've fixed that problem right away! I was there yesterday, but with a gift card...phew!! Thanks for the tip :) I'm noticing most stores up here, though, keep their keypads underneath the counters or in a drawer even. I just love this card...your style all the way...what a fabulous idea to add flowers instead of buttons...you have such a flair for that :) Love your "just 'cause" card...sometimes it's just nice to stamp without DT duties or challenges :)

  13. Oh no! That is terrible news, Jean, and I'm so sorry to hear it happened to you! I'm reading this on Monday, so I'm hoping you have had a chance to go to the back and get some help by now. I got the same email from Michaels and sort of ignored it since I don't live in the Chicago area, but I will definitely be vigilant now!

Despite having that on your mind, you still managed to make a most beautiful card! Love the combination of stamps you used and the gorgeous, soft colors, as always.

Sending you big hugs, friend! Keep us posted on how things turn out!

I wanted to let you know that I think your card is wonderful! And, if you do give this one to your mom, I know she will love it, because you made it with her in mind. :) I also love how you mixed and matched different stamp sets! The results are GREAT!
    Take care.
